Broke a washer nozzle

I'm an idiot....I wanted to re-aim my passenger side washer nozzle because it was spraying too low so I took a sewing needle (which was too thin) and it broke off. Now there's no way to get it out. I removed the nozzle and tried everything to get it out but it's really stuck in there. So only one of the two holes can squirt fluid. It's not the end of the world since it's the passenger side, but I should get a replacement. How much do you think this part costs?

I had something similar happen to me, though not with a needle. How badly is it jammed in there? If you can, find someone with an air hose (don't know if this is what it's called; basically you want pressured air) and try to blow the needle out. You'll have to go under the hood and disconnect the hose from the resevoir where it meets up with the nozzles. Unless it's in there good, it should come out - just watch out for sharp flying objects. :)

Let me know if this works.

16.98 at discount for a new set

EDIT: forgot to mention, these shot out in a stream pattern, rather than the 2 jets the stock one shoot, just FYI

Here is the parts list for the Washer system. You need #27. If the dealer is killing you, you can get the ricer ones, but not plug in the LEDs. I think there was some solid chrome and black generic ones last time I was there.

Thanks for the info.

I thought of getting generic ones if the dealer is killling me, or I can find someone that lives close that has a CF hood and no longer needs the nozzles.

I hope I can just get 1 and not have to buy the pair.

I took the nozzle off and brought it inside to try and get the needle unstuck, and this only resulted in me jamming it in further. There's no hope in ever getting it out now.

I would swap the pair, so they both look new. I know mine have some wax around the edges and probably a little fade. New ones don't,a nd are pretty easy to replace.

I was surprised on how easy they were to take off...I think next time that I wax the car I'll remove them, there was a lot of grit underneath them.

Hey Ottawa - How are they held on? I'm thinking of replacing mine with a set from a Ford Focus. The Focus washers mist the entire windshield, which also uses less washer fluid. No matter how long I play with our stock washers, I can't seem to find the "sweet spot."

Thanks! Stay warm....

This is one thing that I don't like about our car - the misting nozzles IMO are much better. Please do share how to remove them, and as much as it pains me to have an actual Ford part on my car, if it's a direct fit I'll do it.

All you have to do is unhook the rubber hose that attaches to the nozzle, then take a deep 10mm socket and insert it against the nozzle inside the hood, this will press all 4 pins in and the nozzle will pop off.

Squirt some WD and use a madnet. But replacing seems better anyways.

NCStark: Thank you for naming a car with top mount washer nozzles that mist. I was spoiled with my Jetta, but they are under mount nozzles so I was having difficulty retrofitting a set to the Mazda. (thumb) And tomorrow I call the Ford Dealer!

Not sure if Ford changed the design...but my Focus was a 2001. last time I checked into this the nozzles were $10 apiece at the Parts Counter.

Think I'll stop by this week and order a pair. I was thinking of replacing the rear one as well, but it seems inset quite a bit and it would probably wash the interior of the rear spoiler more than the rear window! (boom07)

My only concern is if the hose diameters are different from Ford to Mazda...can't see why it would be, but....

I hate my washer nossles, always needs readjusting, I stuck something thicker in there so it didn't break, but the result was it got all chewed up. Owellz

My Mazda dealer says $7 each for the OEM. What is this I hear about a rear windhield washer nozzle. Where is it located. I don't think I have one.(boom07)

it's located in the top middle just under the spoiler.

On your wiper stalk's tip is a knob you can twist forward to turn on the wipers. Twist further and you'll hear a pump sending washer fluid to the nozzle in the rear. You'll then see it shortly.
