so i was looking through the corksport website through the 99 and up stuff then i see "KVR Carbon fiber brake pads" for $54, possibly 80 at most with shipping or something. what are your opinions on them? as i am going to possible get new ones in 1 or 2 months......im just looking through alterrnatives for OEMs.

what about the KVR Cross drilled or slotted brake rotors ? would they be a good thing to get? all this is for a 99lx so yeah, no for the mp3 but i still wanna get your opinions.

Personally, I don't think there'd be much improvement over factory brakepads. I'd just get some OEM ones with a lifetime warranty. The rotors, however, I hear are a very good thing. I can't remember cross-drilled or slotted though, but I'm leaning towards slotted.

$80 for brake pads??? The better last the life of the car. I think that your best bet is to go with the OEM pads. If you had serious speed mopds, and needed to stop quicker, then you may want to re-do your brake system. Until then, all that Carbon Fiber is Hype. Marketing is a great thing isn't it.

thanks for the replies. 80 was just my guess including shipping, but right know the car has some cheap brakes that were 100 "installed", and they squeak. REALLY SQUEAK. i might be dumb, well i am, but i thought maybe if i had better quality brakes they wouldnt squeak....maybe its just a misconception of mine.....

btw: if i "upgrade" the rotors, must i also upgrade something else in the brake system?....

I dont think so............I got a friend who bought Brembo cross drilled rotors........and oem brake pads........
And gotta tell you.....they look nice with all those holes on the rotors..........especially with our cars since our stock rims shows a lot of the rotors......
Just to let you know.....My friend only got two Brembo rotors and two brake pads....they were about 350-380 Canadian....
Hope the info helps............

$80 for brake pads is what you should be expecting to pay for performance pads. Project Mu has pads for the Protege sedan and P5. I can try to get the part number for those of you who want to persue that route.

thanks apexi but yeah i think im going for the kvr ones, gonna get the rotors and brakes, i wanna make my car look good.
