Brake Pedal Issue

2006 Mazda 3 5-Door
Hi, so my brother in law and I did a brake job on my 2006 Mazda3 hatch and replaced the rotors and pads. Pads are Raybestos and rotors are Dura. Everything went smoothly until I tried to brake after the job. The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor on the first pump and doesn't have a lot of resistance. After pumping it a few times the brakes will work as normal but after a few seconds and another application of the brakes, they go back to the floor again and won't stop the car. We immediately thought to bleed them and did that about 5 times to no avail. I read that you have to apply the e-brake a few times and we did that afterward and still nothing. We are completely stumped on this one. Has anyone found this to happen ever? It does feel like there may be an air bubble but we bled them a bunch of times and nothing changed. The brake fluid level is fine and does not look to be causing any problems. The brakes worked fine before this so we are wondering what the hell is up. Any ideas? All help is much appreciated! Thanks!

EDIT: Car has 155K miles on it.

Sounds like you got air in the lines. It's still possible there might be air in the ABS unit or something. How did you reset the pistons?
