Mazda 3
Hi, I am new to the forum, I appreciate if some other members to please help me.

I have a 2004 Mazda 3 and I loved this car dearly. However, recently I noticed that the brake lights are not coming on when I brake and after I shifted into Park, I cannot shift the gear. I believe it is the brake light switch that is not functioning. I checked the light bulbs and the fuses, they are all fine. Please let me know, step by step instructions how to replace the brake light switch.

I know the switch is located under neath the dash and above the brake pedal, i can see it, the position is very awkward position but please help me with instructions on how to replace this faulty switch, if you have you tube video, so much the better.

Regards,

Alam

if concepts post did not provide enough (its a good how to) the haynes manual for the 3 has a very detailed explanation for this job pn#61012 they are $15-30 depending on where you buy them but worth it when they save you $300 from taking it to someone. here is a link to the speed 3 factory service manual (this procedure would be the same on your car and a speed).
