glad to hear you are okay.
I've read through all 10 pages, and see many misinformed posts.
Hawk HPS is a high performance STREET pad. not a track pad. HPS might b okay for low weight / low power / novice drivers on track. but should never be used on a high speed track / high power / nose heavy / heavy car like MS3. what you need is a better track pad, not the other way around.
inner pads wears faster is most likely due to heat. inner pads runs hotter (out pads gets better cooling), and wear faster. fix is either a brake duct or more heat-tolerant (higher MOT) brake pads. ie. track pads.
one of favorite pads in Spec Miata is Carbotech. one poster mentioned Bobcat (it is still a little better than HPS), but top Spec Miata guys runs XP12 on the front. and this is on a much lighter car with less power.
in Carbotech, it goes from street to full race:
Bobcat
AX6
XP8
XP10
XP12
XP16
in Hawk pads, HPS is down on the pole, like Bobcat. Hawk has higher MOT pads like black, blue, HTC10, DTC60, DTC70 and many more that's more track oriented.
so if spec Miata guy is on XP12, think what a 50% heavier, 100% more power car should use.
