box weight differences?

a sealed 1 cubic ft box with a alpine type r 12, vs. a ported (4" tube about 17 inches long) 2.5 cubic foot box with the same woofer...

how much more would the ported box weigh, using as a baseline of, say, .75 mdf for the front and .5 elsewhere.

not all that much more, it won't quite be double...

Also, it looks like the optimal SQ, vented box is 1.75cubic feet with a 24" long 4" diameter port...
