my grandpa who is 77 i believe. threw a 300 not too long ago. hes been in and out of surgery lately. but before that, he used to bowl everyday.

This is crazy I never have seen this thread. Come to my house Triton and I will have you begging for a house shot. The shot I put out last year dropped our best bowlers average from 230+ to 190. The league bowlers called the USBC 5 times on me cause they said the shot was illegal.

Well i can tell you i average around 200+ in PBA pattern shot, I bowl Regional PBA tournaments. There is one comin up here in Visalia, CA on the 11th, 12th, 13th. PBA pattern shot's are totaly different than different house shot's. They use a different kind of oil and you only have 15ft of back-end. I hook the ball and have a very high back swing

I just finished our season, finished with a 180 avg. That is up 8 pins from last year, so I can't complain. I thought I would have a better year, but oh well.

That's good, and isn't it kinda early for ur league 2 end. Most league's end around the Last week of May, due 2 summer league comin up!!

Na, we start in Sept. I think it was 34 weeks. We bowled on Mondays though, and every freaking holiday this last year was on Monday, so we got pushed back. Usually done mid april.

LOL that really sucks, it kinda throws you offset alittle because i know it would 2 me. Yeah we start our league 2 around september/October!! you should take a look in gettin a Colombia Hyjinx it's a good ball, i have 3 of them due 2 mistakes....lol

Yeah, it kinda sucked...but no too bad.

I use a Columbia Action Max as my first ball and the 10 pin gets the Columbia Alter Ego.

I have that ball 2. But i don't use it since i have 3 Hyjinx drilled different way's. 1 is 15lbs 3oz, the Other 2 are 16lbs. I shot 300 with that ball the first week i had it. I have more than 40+games on that ball and it died all ready. I took some Acetone 2 it 2 get rid of the oil and it still has no backend 2 it. It reminds me of my Track Enforcer i used 2 have

I just finished up my 4th year of league bowling, only just messed around before. Got into it because of my step father.

134, 144, 146, 158, are each of my years averages in order. This year I won most improved bowler. 12 pins. I had it up to 160, but had a bad last 4 weeks.

My best game is 244, and I've done 6 in a row.

I throw a very mild hook, usually from 2 arrow from center slight arc into the pocket. My fist ball was a Storm Hot Rod, then my fathers Apex, now I just bought a Pyro. The Pyro I've only bowled with once, but because the weight isn'y asymetrical like the Apex, it'll be more forgiving for me. I have a nasty habit of inconsitant releases.

I'm the king of 100 point swings.

Oh and in our city tournament I finished 6th in overall events in the "B" bowlers. This includes Singles, Doubles, and team events.

That's good really good, big improvement throughout the year. Keep practicing and bowling and ur average will get higher and ull adapt!! I love bowling(yes)

i wish i could join a league, but my work schedule is hell on top of other crap i have to deal with. so do you guys use different balls to pick up spares or do you just use one ball for everything?

On most spares, I've always used the same ball.

On 10 pins, (I'm right handed) I used to use a different ball, just a plastic ball, but now I can flatten my wrist out enough that I can slide the ball to pickup 10 pins.

I bowl wednesday nights. Last night was my worst week to date lol (136-158-146) haha, I currently avg 180. Since it was the last week of league play most ppl just assumed I was sandbagging

Any lefty's here? I'm using a 14lbs 6oz Storm Big Hit, but I'll be getting something different for next season for sure. Any recommendations?

I had to drop my Thursday league after the 05-6 season because of school, but I finished it with a 172-average and a 240 HSG. I'm still in a half-length Sunday league (every other week) and finished with a 176-average and a 267HSG.
Clean games are getting a bit more common, though I still can't seem to break my 7-strike streak. All this is pretty damned good in my book considering that I blew out the cartilage in my wrist and have to wear a brace.

Right-handed with a 16# Hammer Sling Blade...

As for 300-games, a teammate on the Thu. league had one a while back, and it seems the secretary for the Sun. league does it yearly...

Yeah, our secretary bowled 2 this year. They must have inside knowledge on the lanes .

You should try a Black Widow. Most house shots are easy to read you just have to play around to find the shot with the most area.
