what is the best bov for my speed 3 i dont want to vta but i do want a little sound , would a hybrid valve work w/o thrown a cel , and would it or any bov in recirc. raise my boost pressure?

i havent seen either a vta or bybrid bov thats thrown a cel.

no a bov wont raise your boost pressure

Gettin an after market BOV in recir you wont get much of a sound.

last, please search next time

I have a hybrid, works ok with the occasional pop.... no issues with it, but if I did it again, I'd go full recirc. Mine doesn't have the option.

it won't increase boost, per se, but it can help hold boost if the stocker is leaky (and a lot of them are)

any type of VTA (even hybrid) will cause you to run rich(er) between shifts. That said, I do love the sound!

All stockers by design DO NOT close 100%. unfortunately the car was designed and is calibrated to run that way.

I just installed the Forge BPV yesterday. It definitely has an interesting sound to it. Like a hammer hitting an anvil... :)

not a fan of the forge sound.

Gotta say from everything I read it looked like the forge bpv was the way to go... then I heard the sound on a youtube video, and yeah, definately not my thing.

If you are thinking about going this route I'd reccomend giving a listen and make sure its something you dig.

Different strokes.

Eventually I will give the synapse synchronic bpv a try, I like it b/c it makes very little noise.

i really liked the synchronic from synapsee but when a the time when i was in the market for a valve , it wasnt releasd so i bought a hks, which i like alot

yeah, their youtube comparisons are very misleading, HKS and tial make really good products but synapse claims the valve system in HKS and tial bovs is far inferior to their poppet system... which is just not true.

+1. I saw one of the tests, STi with a Synapse running VTA on an STI with the "anti stall", and it sounded like the motor just wanted to crawl into a hole and die a quiet death alone.

Several posts have mentioned the stock BOV "leaking" or not holding boost at "high" levels...anyone have some firm data on this or logs showing sustained WOT with boost level drops ?

i replaced mine anyway; figured what's the harm. i went with turboxs hybrid and it's perfect.

Whoever told you that gave you some bad information.

read all the post of people saying their stockers are leaking...it doesnt leak, it doesnt close 100%, well i guess that could mean the same thing. at part throttle boost if you have an aftermarket intake you can hear it the damn thing hissing, the spring again by design is left weak to counter part throttle boost compressor surge.
