BOV/BPV - Vacuum Line Question

I am running dual BPV / BOV setup at the moment and i need to be able to setup a vacuum line to my new Greddy BOV. Where can i tap it in ... keep in mind that i only have the factory T connector to the factory BPV and one T connector that came with the greddy and a length of hose. Can i cut into the piping that is on the factory BPV and put my T in there ? Its awfully stiff hose ... im not sure if i could get my connector into it or not. Any other easy place?

PICS are a must.

Thanks a million all.

read the walkthrough for "running an open vented greddy type s without stalling" I believe it's in the how-to section. Or do a search for "brake booster line" and tap into that source. Best vacuum source is the brake booster, however you will need a different type of T because it isnt a 3/16 line. Both topics have pictures, so check it out.

You can tee into the same line that goes to your BPV, and if you have to, just replace the vacuum hose. :)

Ok ... but that line seems to be hard plastic and i am not sure if i cut it to put another T in it ... will it hold the connection?

id suggest just replacing the hose with new bulk fuel line hose from autozone...

So you are saying just replace the hose from the factory T connector to the BPV with a new hose? How do you get the factory hose off that crappy connector without breaking it?

which hose are you referring to? The stock BPV sits inbetween a pretty hard hose doesnt it? Isnt the BPV that round piece located on the 8inch long or so smaller pipe running from one of the IC pipes to the Intake pipe?

Yes ... thats it. the small vacuum line hose that runs to that BPV is very hard.

.99c a foot at autozone for stuff that fits... Just replace that section, so you can tee into it easier.

Sorry if im not making since... woke up early to start a new job... and been working ALLLLLLL day...

ok its very simple.. replace the line that goes from the stock to the throttle body which is by the windshield... when u replace it cut it an and use a T.. so ull have 2 Ts the stock T and the T u used one for the BOV and one for the bpv.. hope it helps good luck

even if you do cut the stock hose , its likly too brittle too reuse .. replace the whole line
i also recomend running diff line just for the bov . it will respond alot better

Get two vac line T assortment packs from autozone. They are cheap. Then use two of the proper sized T's in the brake booster line. Hook those up to your BOV's, then use the manifold vac source for the wastegate only. Here is a diagram that I made:

This will give your wastegate a nice clean source, and your BOV setup will sound even better than it would if you did the simple wastegate line T. Hope this helps.

Ok ,... its all done now ... but i have a BOV problem. The greddy does blow off ... but it is very quiet and high pitch ... the pitch seems to be correct ... but it is a very fast quiet blow off ... how do i get it to be a loud long blowoff like im used to?

what difference will that make ... i already have the vacuum line going to the BOV. Will the BOV get louder when i give the wastegate a dedicated line?

Yeah,

What Zoom is saying that is if your BOV is pulling Vac source from a line that is already being used for another Vac source such as the wastegate line or BPV line than your BOV is not going to get enough Vac pressure for it to remain open long enough to properly vent excess boost to the atmospher and give you the sound you are looking for.

By giving it its own dedicated line running from the brake booster line (probably the most powerful Vac source under the hood) it should give you much better results. If not it is competing for Vac pressure from other components and is not allowing the valve to open far enough.

Currently the BOV is pulling vacuum from this source though ... not from the same place as the BPV. Are you saying the wastegate is not getting enough pressure ... or the BOV?
