2011 CX-9 Touring AWD
Hello All!

Just picked up a 2011 Touring AWD, crystal white with the bose/sunroof package and power rear hatch. Had 19kmi when we took delivery last Saturday and already made it from PA to FL, and over 20k mi. Love it so far, and this looks like an active forum where I can get some useful answers as I start to have questions.

Anything up front I should be concerned with or look into?

I want to add the mirror with homelink and compass, and perhaps a few other Mazda accessories, anyone have a copy of the installation instructions for the mirror? Debating if I want to do that myself or leave it to a dealer.

Thanks!

Welcome.
The instructions are on this forum. A little searching will help you find them.
I did the HomeLink Mirror myself. It is about 2-3 hours of work by yourself.

Don't break the wiper sensor when you remove the mirror base.
The wiper sensor is attached to the windshield.
If broken, you will have to buy the entire new windshield with the wiper sensor attached.... cost you $$$...
The "tool" made of wired hanger is just to avoid damaging the sensor and to unlatch the tab thet holds the mirror base.
Also, for the A-pillar trim. The pictures could be confusing.
You pull it off by 1 inch toward the center console, then slide it upwards towards the ceiling.
Don't break the special push pin underneath. (well, I did....)

I just put said mirror on my CX-9 like a week ago... http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123824699-Some-pictures-of-my-Homelink-mirror-install

The hardest part was trying to find the right mirror (A lot of sellers on eBay do not give you the part number, and if you take a gamble, it will probly be the wrong mirror)

And a little bit more on that... A lot of salvage yards get bad info on parts, and they will list a mirror as having come off a CX-9 when in fact it came off another vehicle and for some reason the seller lists it as a CX-9 mirror because they assume it is compatible, and will outright lie to you. The only way to confirm is to confirm the part number on the back of the mirror.

The mirror you HAVE to get is 000 8C Z02 and the install kit you will need IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RAIN SENSOR is 000 8C N02
