Bought a used MP3, but need help on how to repair it

I bought a MP3 a few weeks ago, it has a few problems with it. First of all the fuel gauge was broken, but I've fixed that already, it was relatively easy. There are two more problems I'd like to fix however. First, a stud in the right front wheel broke in half. I ordered a new stud and lug nut, but I have no idea how to get the old stud out? Does anyone know of a detailed tutorial for this? I took off the wheel but didnt see any obvious way of getting the stud out. It looks like I have to take the caliper and brakes off entirely but I don't know if that's necessary or even how to do that.

Other problem is check engine light code 0401, about the egr valve. I found the egr valve but it is really hard to get to. What is the easiest way to take it out? I don't see how it's possible to just reach down in there and unbolt it because there's a lot of stuff in the way.

The stud needs to be drilled out. most tire shops could do it, or refer you to someone who can.

You have to remove the caliper and rotor. Then bang it out with a hammer, but watch out, it could/will go flying off the dust shield and take your eye out, so wear eye protection. Then, "draw" in the new stud with some washers and a "sacrificial nut" and draw in the new stud, but don't go and stretch the threads, but make sure it is seated all the way.
