Boosting the turbo?

It's not a very easy thing to do and not a lot of tech's can do it. you need to place a resisotr bypass on the ecm because if it see's more than 3 pounds of boost it will cut fuel. after that it's just a matter of turning the screw on the turbo but i don't know exactly where the bypass goes. sorry if that's not much help

Do you have any idea what the hell you are talking about??? :wtf: Is he referring to upping the boost in teh MSP if so then you just need a boost controller. The MSP runs 7 psi of boost stock and the myth of the fuel cutoff is not true it will not cut fuel at 10psi this has been proven. And what are you talking about turn a screw on the turbo?????? Tell him that and he will unscrew his compressor wheel. If you don't know what you are talking about then keep yo mouth shut!

LMFAO

I found out how to do it.
I installed a manual Turbo XS boost controller.
I have the boost at 9 psi's. I was told anything over that will shut car down. Otherwise she is running harder and faster now. So you think I can go 10 or more PSI on the turbo? Let me know.

you can but i wouldn't suggest it until we know the limits of our motor. It shoudl be good to 10 psi but I would keep it at 9 psi for now to be safe.

Ok MSP buddys.

I just boosted my car this morning to 12 PSI's. It pins 12 but stays steady at 11. I raced my friend in his 93 Ford Mustang 5.0
He took me off the line but when we hit second gear, I was gone.
I was like holy s*** this car pulls in second and third. I am going to keep it like this for a week. Then I am going for 14 PSI's.

MazdaSpeed Is the BOMB!!!!!(bow) (mspo)

uhhhh.......

dont forget about our good friend Linux, broken rod
yeah blah blah MP3 advance timing s***, I know
but 14psi? ARE YOU ******* MADD??

god speed
if anything happens, I hope you can make it look stock before it gets taken to the dealer

Yeah you guys are right. I would be pushing it with 14 PSI's.
I guess I'll just wait till someone else does it and see what happens. I guess I am just boost happy:) .
I am going to put in on a dyno sometime next week. I wll post the results.

What made you go with a manual controller instead of an electronic one...I hear a lot of people on here saying electronic ones are better...not bashin you, just curious...because i want to get one, but not sure which to get.
Also, what are you going to do for warranty work..or do you not care about your warranty.
Anyways, good luck and be careful with the boost, msp's are great cars but they're not a skyline...:D

Well I went with manual because it is $300 cheaper.
I am not worried about warranty. What ever I did can be easily change in minutes. Maybe in the future I will setup a electronic boost controller.

Manual boost controllers only downfall is the lack of adjustbablity from teh cabin other than that they work just as well if not better in some cases than EBC's. With EBC's I always worry abotu the solenoid getting stuck and boosting my car to the poitn where the motor goes kablewy. I have a Dawes Devices MBC and it works perfectly and it also keeps me from messing with the bosot levels when I had a EBC I was constantly changing the boost level.

I think I'll end up getting a manual one because I don't plan on messin with it too much after i find a good level of boost...

That is also pretty much why I got it to. If you have one in the car, you always want to play with it. I set mine and thats it for now.
