I can't wait to get my boost gauge installed and see what my boost is......then comes the boost controller(spin)

I just install my gauge last week, and the gauge reads no boost on first gear, boosting almost to 5 psi on 2nd gear, and little over 5 psi on all other gears then it drops back down. I also having hard time getting boost in 2nd gear, I rev it up past 4k rpm and I don't get boost, but sometime if I step on the gas pedal harder then I'll get boost on 2nd gear but the max it goes it's 5 psi, then it start to fall back down. It's this normal?? I got a custom bent cat back exhaust with HKS Carbon Ti muffler, and an Injen CAI.
Ok, in the bold part. Do you mean you're not boosting when you are applying partial throttle? Like maybe 1/8 or 1/4? You have to keep applying more and more gas to keep the boost up, it will still fall a bit. Here's what works good in first gear, you just FLOOR IT!. In second apply 1/2 throttle and keep applying more and more till you hit redline, in third same thing, maybe a bit more gas.
But your car will not boost unless your engine is having hard time accelarating per how much gas you've given it.
I just confused myself.

i don't have slow boost

My boost wasn't slow before I got new lines, and the needle shook before, but it does not shake any more. It spooled fast the whole time. Just didn't hold boost and shook. After I replaced the lines my boost stayed higher longer, and barely backs off at all near end of redline. Car seems to pull harder than it did stock. The stock lines and clamps (bj) .

Here's a pic of the factory workshop manual...I'm curious how anyone (like a car magazine) knows other than heresay if Mazda won't even print it?

For autocross, at the National level, generally, you have to prove things by the workshop manual, citing a car mag doesn't fly. So for instance in STX, if you replace the computer (which is legal) you have to maintain the stock boost level...but how do you prove you're at the stock boost level?

Well it was all over the place I had some literature from Mazda concerning this and it was always stated as 6.9PSI. I don't think I kept any of it I will look around this was all over a year ago. Personally I think stock boost sucks so it was never an issue for me. I run 12PSI with the MBC in. If they changed the PSI on the later cars or after production started on the 03's then thats just one more thing Mazda lied about just like the overated power numbers for the RX8's for which Mazda was sued and lost. Supposedly the Manual for an MSP was just a barely ammended ES manual. This car was never really given any support just slapped together by a bunch of half drunk port workers. (laugh)

I love my car but I seem to be lucky compared to some others. Mine runs 12PSI all day like a champ after 33k miles, never really hesitated and gets good mileage. The only thing I did not like was getting screwed out of 1.9PSI of boost! Well that and the sorry stock turbo hoses which were replaced by Mazda.
