Boostin Prob PLEASE HELP!!!!

:
2003 mazda protege dx
okay so ive recently rebuilt my protege dx wit forged internals with the help of SCMP3.. i know build thread is long over due.. but i am havin jus one problem,
when the car is cold, like a dead cold start up, and i punch it ( i sholdnt when cold i know butt..) it boost's amazing!! like i can feel the car boosting properly and pulling like it should and it feels great!!! but as soon as the car warms up... when the temp guage on the cluster is in between cold and hot, i feel like a huge lag of some sort.. like when i go wot it seems like the car jus doesnt wana go... it hardly pulls at all ... the thing is i hear the turbo spoolin and sounds jus like the way it did when it is cold... also when i start to let off the throttle some it feels like its boostin like it did when it was cold.. like at about 1/4th throttle it boosts like it should.. .. does the lower compression i have, have any effect on it? idk what it could be... im lost on this one... any help would be appreciated :) thanks

oh btw the mods are all in the sig

any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!

its called heat soak. Get use to it.

i thought that at first but i rode around at night and with the bumper off and it still does it!!! and heat soak shouldnt happen as soon as the car warms up should it?

keyword warm up. Its the same song and dance. HEAT SOAK.

Rolling around with the bumper off, makes no difference. Just up the boost :D.

Well it doesn't help that you have the Protege Front bump on as well and almost no air for the FMIC. Probably even then it may not help the situation like stated.

idk r you sure?? how can i be getttin heat soak?? how can i prevent it? i even have a front mount
(hand)

Your car is naturally going to run better when cool, no radiant heat, lower air intake temps, BIGGER EXPLOSIONS. You ever seen a car dyno'd that made more power on the 3rd run then the first? No, because it warmed up.

thats why i took the front bumper off for a day and i figured it would help a little bit but nothin!!

I have the same problem. MSP with bolt-ons though. I really doubt its heat soak, man. I don't even think these guys read your post. If it's heat soak, why would the car pull for a second when he let's off the throttle? (Same as me). It wouldn't, it would decelerate normally. My suggestion would be to get your gauges hooked up asap and let us know the a/f ratio because some have suggested to me that my problem could be fuel related. I'd like to know what sort of readings you are getting since I am experiencing the exact same problem.

Bump*

hopefully someone can give him some help. Lets try to explore something besides heat soak. which was my first thought but doesn't add up after reading the post.

i agree with the majority and shooting for heat soak
if you look at my dyno chart in my mod list link you can see i lost more than 10whp by the third run. also some sort of afr reading would be nice... you could be running extremely rich or lean and you will still here the turbo spooling

also you might wanna either condense your sig or actually post your mod list here and put a link in you sig like i have

EXACTLY!!!! thats why i doubt that its heat soak... i mean i even took the front bumper off and rode around with it off at night as its cooler at night, and it didnt help!!! ima hook those guages up sometime next week... i got to deal wit college stuff this week..

i will hook the guages up next week... also im runnin doc b's oil system and right now at idle my oil pressure is at about 15 -20 psi warm.. is that too high? i guess my question is can too high of oil pressure cause what im experiencing?

thanks for all the comments and inputs

get that msp bumber on there.....better air flow. but as far as what your experiencing. i have no idea. it does kinda sound like heat soak but doesnt really add up

In my case it's not that the car feels a bit down on power, it's just that it almost won't accelerate AT ALL under boost when it's warmed up. In fact when I was on my way up to Oregon from the bay area I had a lot of trouble getting up hills, even in 4th gear the car would be decelerating while my friend in his 91 MR2 n/a was breezing past me in 5th. I would have to go to 3rd gear and stay there at 5500rpm just to get up the inclines. This is unfortunately not just heat soak.

thats exactly how mine feels!!!! a freakin 18 wheeler passed me goin up a hill today!!!!!
SCMP3 thinks its jus the normal hesitation... i really doubt it but then again ill find out soon!!! almost to 1k miles!! then the afc and wot box and injectors and guages go in!!!

I have this exact same problem. I have a huge FMIC on my MSP and its the exact same thing. A nice morning run and my car pulls HARD and fast, and accelerates well. Drive for a few minutes, however, and forget about it being quick. It bogs down, bucks, and hesitates. This has been an issue since before the FMIC, i feel that it perhaps helped but not by much, thats for sure.

im glad heckaTIGHTis and i arnt the only ones here with this problem... well ima find out if its the hesitation or not soon.. i hope this weekend!!! but anyway i jus broke 1k miles today on the forged motor so hopefully this weekend i can install the afc and all the goodies and tune it and jus hope it goes away!!!! ill keep yall updated for sure....

Electrical components can function perfectly fine cold, but when they get too hot, they can experience problems. How new are all of your coil packs, plug wires, etc...? Any cel?
