Boost....

Is there anyone that can help me out with boosting questions?

1. How much is safe with stock injectors?

2. Who makes ecu flashes or programmable ECU's?

3. Manual boost controllers safe with the stock setup?

4. Any other comments would be loved!!

haha ... first to answer your 2nd thread...i love it

1. Stock injectors are rated at 1600 psi, HOWEVER, their duty cycle is close to 50% and we can only grasp about 25%. We think the pump is the weak link, CPE is trying to confirm this. I have seen 22-23 lbs, run on a stock setup on an MS6.

2. You have 3 options for tuning.
A. Cobb AccessPort - Not yet Released. Soon Hopefully -- $699
B. XEDE - Already available. Plug and Play available August 1st. -- $999
C. CPE Standback/Piggyback. Not Yet Released. Soon Hopefully. -- $$$ Price not yet released.

3. A boost controller won't do anything. Your ecu will learn and pull timing and put everything back to stock within a few days. Only way is via a ECU tuning.

4. Get a tuning software. Get rid of of the limited boost in the first 2 gears. Tune sothe throttle plate doesn't close in 5th and 6th gear, and you are golden !!!

No worries ... have more questions ? ask them in this thread. lets see if we can get them answered for you.

Where can I get a center mount gauge pod? (steering wheel column).

Any cheap mods you recommend?

which type ? the ones that go over the vents ?

Cheap Mods I Recommend.

1. Shifter Bushings -- They Make a world of difference -- $35
2. Rear Mount -- SU, AWR, or Protege Garage's new one -- $80-120 depending
3. Race Pipe -- go with Protege Garage's new one -- $199
4. CAI - MS CAI, Injen, CPE, Fugita. To be honest, go with the Injen -- $199-325 depending on which one you go with

There ya go. Those should be your first several mods. Not too expensive either

The gauge pod that is over the steering column. so when you look through your steering wheel, it is there.

A rear mount? engine mount? New one for more stiffness? less wheel hop? or is the factory one just bad?

guage pod for the steering column is pretty bad imo, only because, it blocks a good amount of the stock gauges. don't know where to find it either.

engine mount for less wheel hop. a must in almost everyone's opinion !!!

ya i heard it closes to a certin degree around 3000rmp too.

Hehe, invasion of the CASH! Board member fabs the gauge pods himself...but I can only remember his screen name from the unmentionable forum and it's not the same as his on this board.

if you mount the gauge in a cup on the steering column at the open mouth of the speedo pac-man, you only block your seatbelt light. Everything else is visible.

seeing as the fujita is more or less an exact and cheaper clone of the injen you'd be as good going that route as you would with the injen.

this is true too, but not necessarily cheaper. i have seen $200 GB on Injens !!!

i only say injen because they have black and have had more experience with them in the past !!!
