Boost What To Do!!!

Yeah you can't set the MBC to lower your boost pressure. In fact, installed it increases pressure by about 1 PSI just due to its restriction.

You cannot install a MBC to lower your pressure after you've installed exhaust and DP.

Some MSP's come with 6Psi and some seem to come with 8Psi at the setting on the wastegates. 8 Psi with stock injectors and normal maintenance should be no problem. Set the boost to whatever you want to. Anyone who boosts above stock is responsible for when they blow the motor.

I do not want 12 replies to my last statement just saying No or Nope. It's a waste of a reply. If you notice that someone else has already answered exactly what you are about to say then why bother. :)

With the MBC, you can go from 0 boost to whatever, once you tap into that vacuum line.

incorrect, a mbc will only bleed boost, the WASTEGATE will still run stock boost but with the mbc you will only be able to go above stock boost, now if you somehow defied how every single wastegate works, id like to know how...

I have spiked 15 PSI at the track (around 70 degrees) and on the street more than a dozen times with the stock engine, plugs, cooling system, I/C, PCM, and fuel pressure. It holds up. Has held up and I have no dbout that it will for more than 100,000 miles. with 30,000 miles I am almost a third of the way there

I wish I had video footage of a 15 psi spike. I have been on the highway (max air flow) and held 14 psi in 5th until speed cut hit
I have a VDO mechanical boost gauge that reads 30hg-15PSI

I think people are blowing their motors because they aren't turning the boost down in the colder weather like you are supposed to.

1 liter of air @ 30 degrees has more molecules than 1 liter of air @ 70 degrees....

So 10psi in the winter puts more air into the engine than 10 psi in the summer.

More air + same amount of fuel = boom.

I thought the mbc limits you to what the car is at stock. For instance if its 6psi stock you cannot go under that even with the mbc all the way down. I have a dual stage mbc. I have it set at stock for 6.5 psi and once I Hit the switch it goes to 9.5. I have the first stage all the way down and it does not go under 6.5 psi

That's Correct!

If your wastegate is set to 5psi..a mbc can only increase..not decrease below 5psi!
