boost gauge

i have an type -X boost gauge and when its off , it sits like at negative 3 psi. is that normal? and if not , how could i calibrate it?

it should the lost value of vac pressure when the car is idling, and then when the turbo spools it should read whatever the psi on your car is set 7psi is stock for most, mine is 5psi for some reason.

It could also be the line you taped into, check it again, make sure it is a strong connection with no leak.

A boost gauge should sit at zero when off. It you are reading vacuum when the car is cut off then your readings are probably off too. Make sure your connection is grounded. The same thing happened to me and threw my readings off.
