stock map can support up to what psi without problems?

did a search, nothing really found.

good question, subscibing to this thread cuz i wanna know too.

sorry i dont have the answer though(shrugs)

i peak at 13-14.
i really want an mbc to maybe get like 15-16 manifold and hopefully pick up a few hp but still keep it safe.

and yeah i thought it was a solid question since a search on here and google got me about 0.012% of an answer. perhaps my keywords suckked.

i'm pretty crappy at searching. so i really appreciate when people post helpful links.

now on my gauge i peak 17-18 and hold15-16. thats readin right off the vacuum line to the bpv.

according to a stock map loaded in the cobb tuning software ATR, it appears that the stock cut level is 18.21psi from 1000-5000rpm, 17.43psi @ 5500 rpm, 16.66psi @ 6000 rpm, and 14.53psi @ 6500rpm. those values are for fuel cut. the table for when the throttle will close in regards to boost is 16.24psi from 1000-4500rpm, 15.46 @ 5000, 14.69 @ 5500, 12.56 @ 6000 and 9.47 @ 6500.

basically that means if it hits those levels the throttle plate will begin to close a bit to reduce the velocity and volume coming into the engine which in turn will reduce the pressure.

fack, i better get some more mods lol. i have never taken my car up to redline yet so i dont know really what i spike at. about 4500 is the furthest i have gone now that i have gauges.
Thanks though for the insight.

you won't need to go all the way to redline to see max boost. Like people were saying spiking to 18 and then tapering off to 15ish is normal. If after you go full boost and you still are only getting 14 there is something wrong. Also people who add a TMIC of FMIC are seeing about a 2 psi bump in Boost. Pretty easy install too.

i spike 16ish sometime 17 and then hold in the 13-14ish area. i asked mazda and they said as long as im seeing up to 15.9 ( meaning my spike) theres nothing wrong.

but i keep reading people spiking 17-18 and holding 15-16 :(. maybe time for mbc

see but those are not stock cars. i hold 12-13 all day long. i dont spike at all. i think the highest spike i have ever seen on my gauge was like 14.

when u mash the go petal u dont see it jump for a sec then settle?

When I hooked up my brother-in-law's Dash Hawk, I spiked at 19psi, then settled to 14-15psi and holding. And my car was pretty much stock except for and HKS SSQV BPV.

now thats what i'm talkin bout. numbers. lets see what bova's info looks like a lil more organized.

18.21 @ 1k-5k
17.43 @ 5.5k
16.66 @ 6k
14.53 @ 6.5k

this clearly explains why boost tapers off. kinda like a safety net i suppose. so in other words. without some sort of EMU, you'll never see more boost than these tables allow!?
