Boiling coolant - Help me before I push this thing off of a cliff

i have also done it, but radiator was off my car!

Did your cooling fan ever happen to stay on for like 10 minutes after shutting the car off? i just ask because my dads jeep cherokee did one time because the relay was going out, the car started to overheat after that until relay was fixed.

No, my fan won't even turn on unless the engine is running :(. I do remember my friend's accord used to cycle the fan when we weren't even near it on hot days after a drive.

Im a honda guy and HONESTLY, my brothers mazda speed always seem to have problem back n forth. The suspension to brakes, coolant, etc. Although its pretty fast and i didnt know he had that 3.5k forged block with the new mazdaspeed manifold. Other than these type of problems it drive nice. GL on your coolant issue man.

Thanks man. I'm actually a Subaru guy and I don't even know why I ended up with this car, lol..

Had the same exact problem last month, but I also had oil in my coolant. Totally thought it was a head gasket.

$400 later for diagnostics, they told me motor was fine. Changed my tstat and cap and havent had a problem since.

Are you sure you got the right radiator cap? I think its supposed to be like 1.3bar or something like that

Is it really 1.3 bar? The one that came with my car was 1.1 bar and it was fine until recently. I replaced it with another 1.1 bar cap.

Also I ordered the little hose that broke from Mazda and it was $71.56 @_@...

I personally think your water pump is gone. Do you know anyone that can do a leak down test for you? If your head gasket is bad and you are over heating that badly, you prolly have white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe and watery oily mix. If you don't have these tale-tell signs then I think its water pump time.

i dont see how a thermostat and cap can fix oil in your coolant.

Yeah I just noticed he said that he had coolant and oil mixed. Prolly still has issues that he doesn't know about. Something that big doesn't just go away, although it may be intermittent until it totally gives out

the stock cap is not 1.3 bar. the 1.3 bar is an upgrade.

sounds like u got shafted man. if u had a coolant/oil mix then ur headgasket has either gone out or there is a problem with ur turbo and the oil is seeping into ur coolant from there.

So is the OP getting oil in his coolant or not? Like a bunch of the other people have said, head gasket and water pump would be my best guesses. I had an overheating problem due to me forgetting to plug in the main fan and the car would occassionally get a bit hot. Luckily this was in the winter. This weakens all your coolant hoses. I had three different hoses spring leaks on me in three different spots. Take care of the excess heat.

I have been checking, and haven't seen any coolant in the oil so far.

Get a WP and timing belt. Its cheap and fairly easy. Might as well get valve cover gasket and acc. belts as well. Timing belt is prolly past due anyways.

I'm not sure if you find your answer yet, But its a blown head gasket!!
I had the same issue when I bought mine. I took it to the dealer and they kept saying it was some part of the ac that needed cleaning and I told them I thought it was head gasket. So we made a deal that if they fixed what they thought they thought was the problem and they were wrong I wouldnt have to pay. I ended up with some free service. Once the head gasket was fixed problem solved!!
