body repair... what to do?

Hi guys,

I got rust on my 92 Nissan Stanza, wich I really love

I was thinking to get the rust out and try to paint it.

Any suggestion about the "how to".

And any product recommandation is more than welcome.

and since is not my "primary car", i won't put a forturne in it

I would try soem naval jelly, its failry cheap not sure on the price though. put soem on and let it sit then wipe it away and do it a few times. This will get rid of most of the rust, then try sanding it off with some heavy-medium grit sandpaper(300-600). Then move up to finer grit sand paper(800-1200) this should give it a nice smooth finish. Then you can prime and paint.
