Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

ya the paint on that stuff is gonna burn off within the first couple times and will flake everywhere and look like absolute s***...trust me just blast it and spray with wd-40 it will give it a nice finish.

It will do that even if its high temp paint? I read of someone doing this before which is why I decided to do it, I think they mentioned they put it in the oven after spraying so that the paint would essentially bake onto the manifold. I know it's just spray paint and can't expect a lot, I just didn't want it all looking rusted, and like I mentioned it won't be in there long. As soon as kit is installed I'll be saving for new parts! I'd love to get ahold of the steedspeed manifold. Holy of all manifolds, I like it anyways. lol

get a list of steps to do in your head.

I just installed my turbo last week, and what was supposed to be a 2 day install took 5.

little things like, remembering to clean off the gasket from the crank support plate, and the oil pan, or cleaning the head so that the new gasket makes a good seal, all the little things take time.

also have you figured out your piping route? will the sedan bumper clear the fmic?

get lots of spare metric nuts and bolts, spare taps and dies to clean up threads in holes. and lots of penetrating lube, for when bolts are siezed and for when everything goes wrong:p

installing the hks ssqv is also a task and a half, the dam snap ring is in such an awkward spot plus the o ring makes it even harder to the the snap ring in there.

also be carefull with the ebay intercooler kit, the aluminum they use is pretty soft and it's really easy to crush with a hose clamp.

my build thread it's for an auto, but most of it will apply.

I plan on installing the bov when I get back home. My bro is getting me a tool to get the c clip in. I have planned some of the routing out. I've got a lot of the steps planned out. I plan it out everyday. lol.

More parts...Now I need an install day!

-SLSPerformance Air Divertor panel w/ out latch cutout (Cutouts are discontinued, so i'm going to cut this one out myself.)

Sweet!! (2thumbs)

....your heads look a little dull, you should grab some headlights. I think there is some in the FS section for cheap :)

If I had the money to use towards your headlights, especially HID kit, I would! Unfortunately my plan is to use left over money in case I need parts during install (Inevitable!!) or etc. lol.
Once I get the kit on and running smoothly, I want to start on appearance: Wheels, tint, HID's, new shifter knob and boot; and then suspension.

Only 115? Is that headlights and hid combo? lol. If that was the case...maybe! lol.

Yeah I can't wait to see her boosted as well!

It's 115 for headlights and 85 for HIDS. HIDS already sold ha. Oh well..Like I said I need to get money to the side for the day I have time to install! Probably won't be til July since I'll be doing summer school and won't be home til then. URGH!

Wouldn't 6 be okay if I only plan on running stock boost for now? I figured when I up'd the boost I would acquire 7's. Is this not a good theory? I may have misunderstood when I read about the sparkplugs and spoke with a few members. LMK...thanks for the suggestion

i'd go with stock range.. one step colder, generally requires new tuning.

Essentially it is okay for me to run the 6's for now with stock boost? I had planned on doing this in order to keep the problems limited. That is primarily why I am trying to keep this kit as MSP stock as possible for now except the intake and IC.

how are you planning on running the piping?

that's how i had mine, i've made the piping the shortest possible route for a fmic

still aint got this s*** in yet lol?
I have not. ha. Last minute decision, I decided to take summer classes. They end June 26th, wish it was sooner b/c I hate Chemistry! lol. I haven't posted in awhile but I've been doing research since. lol. The only reason I may be hesitant on installing it now is finances. I just got into my program (Athletic Training) and I am required to dish out $400 for apparel and equip. urgh!

B/c i put the build off, my bro has been procrastinating on welding my fitting to oil pan. Punk! lol. I also need to get another tire as well...

This is exactly how I want to route it. Do you have any pics of it connecting to the FMIC itself? I'll search through my PM's to find your link to your build thread.

Edit: I just realized you clocked your turbo didn't you? lol.
