blue overlays...

I have the blue batmobile fog light covers and i love them. I would like to get some headlight covers for my laser blue P5 as well. What are the price differences between the two brands?

i have the rockblocker blue overlays on my tC. see my pics thread for more info

It's all about personal preference. mine may not be as thick as the other guys, nor is it as thin as window tint, but I've had rocks and other things hit my headlights with my overlays with no damage at all. To say mine don't offer any protection? Mine offer more protection than not having anything at all ;). I find most of my customers in general buy these things for aesthetics anyways.

JR, I got your email and replied to it ;).

Like I said in the "Smoked Overlays" thread, protection isn't the main purpose of the overlays. It's all about appearance guys!As I said before,if you want major protection for you lights,go to your local Auto Zone or Pep Boys and pick up some headlight/tailight tape!Seriously,if the overlays were made strictly for protection, neither company would produce them in various colors and finishes.

Like Andy said,it's personal preference.

And once again, sorry if i start a flame war!

How do you like it in terms of visability

they changed the light output color slightly but I have HID's so no one can really tell anyway. But when i had regular bulbs it looked like i had hyper whites. i like them a lot. and the stuff is THICK! they are pretty tough put on but my headlights are pretty curved. I would imagine it would be much easier on the msp as they are fairly flat except for the side

I have my headlight housing painted black which dimmed my light output slightly. I hope that the overlays wouldn't cause anymore lose of light. What do you guys think?

We have several folks that have their housings painted black and with our blue film they have said they can see better at night. Sounds kind of hinky but I hear it all the time. There are several members on this board. Try AZM6 for one reference.

I think the Banana cool with blue!! :)

As for the statement above about going to Autozone and getting tape for you protection you can sure do that if you want, but we all know that would look like crap.

I agree with Bat here in this thread. It is about preference and choices. Consumers can make up their own mind on which they want to do or use.

Overlays= appearance mod only

Light Protection= protection just so happens you can get it in colors as well

if the overlays were made strictly for protection

These are two different products and ideas dont confuse them to be the same thing when they are not

I have run both Blue Batmobile, blue fog light overlays and currently have the complete blue headlight & fog light protection from rockblocker.
I was happy with bats for about a year. Then they started to dry out and crack and chip. AZeli73 had his melt to the fog lenses.

If you are going for inexpensive and just want something cheap to change the color of your lights then Blue Batmobile is perfect. I was really happy with them for the first year. They did change my light output to a noticeable blue light.

I have blacked out my headlights and have the blue rockblocker rock protection. I see no change in light output. In fact they appear to emit a whiter light. I have changed to a cool blue headlight bulb and have a blue headlight beam, but my fogs are still stock bulbs.

I have chips in my headlights and the rockplocker protective film actually filled in those chips so they aren't noticeable standing next to my car.

I know where the chips are and I have to search for them now.

Both products are good and both venders are awesome to deal with. I have great respect for both. But from personal experience I like the rockblocker better. It offers a color change with exceptional protection.

Here are some pictures for ya.

i've got the rockblocker blues on my scion. i've also got 8000K hids in it. I'll try to get some shots at some point today. i'll have to find a working camera but we'll see. I was worried about the covers changing the light output too much but I was surprised at how it turned out. Still gives me the HID look without "bluing" it up to much. It's hard to describe but i like it

It looks great. I have HIDS as well and blue film. So does Untouchable in his 3

Nice! I have the Catz 4500K (More towards the white end of the spectrum), so the blue overlays (the ones that actually protect) might up the ante for me. Hit me with a PM on price if you don't mind. I also need some Yellow overlays for my fogs. Let me know.

I'd say no way on that.

I don't get the point of colored headlight covers. I don't even think I'd do it on a blue car.... maybe. But I doubt it.
