On a way to mountains noticed noise coming from engine compartment.I stopped the car, open hood and found blue plastic cover completely loose(2 plastic things broke off )
Next day went to dealer and they ordered new cover.Today they changed it .I was really surprised that it took only 1 day to have new part installed.BTW it should not happened to 6 months old car (bad design??)

Or some defective parts/clips holding it on...

Sorry, I do not know the part number. I will only replace with the Mazda stock air filter.

This is your second time you randomly DERAILED another thread to ask about an irrelevant question WHICH I HAVE ALREADY ANSWERED in the other thread.

Back to OP. The cover is solidly designed as far as I could tell. Probably installed incorrectly. Not that it's anything more than aesthetics anyways.

So what's your problem with that?

Are they covering the replacement of the cover under warranty or are you having to pay for the replacement? Any of the dealers have any good guesses on how they are breaking?

Covered under warrantee?!?! I posted about 8 months ago that mine broke. I brought it in for servicing and they lost the engine cover. Like completely lost it. When i asked where it was, they told me I could buy a new one, about this time i lost it on the service manager and he agreed to pay for half!!! half of their mistake! after a few more i rate comments they installed a new one at no cost. Same noise about a week ago. Guess what? Another one broken. They installed the new one. By the looks of things, mine anyways, the supports are snapping off the cover at the cover, the pegs and grommits are staying attached to the engine. I live in the city, and take care not to drive it over too many things that would jar something like this loose. Looks like back to dealership. Perhaps back to the drawing board for mazda. first one ended up in my belts somehow...

Mine was broken as well. Heard the noise from the engine department the other day and found the cover was loose. But the dealer doesn't think this is due to poor design (they think that "someone may force open it" but I never touch that stuff). Can we ask Mazda to fix this poor design? I don't want to pay for another one and have it broken in another year or so.

Mine also broke. The front two clips broke off where they meet the engine cover. Fortunately, the dealer had a spare on a wrecked CX-5 that they just gave me. No problems since then. I think that mine broke due to force. Before I would take the cover off to clean it, but not anymore.

Did they give you another blue one? Must be bad luck, removed mine a bunch (messing w/intake) never broke. The rubber part did come off though stuck to the plastic leg.
