Blowing lots of smoke almost Daily!!

I'm putting her on the lift tomorrow and seeing whats going on. Ill get to the turbo eventually, but why do you say ASAP?

Check your intercooler piping and let me know how much oil is caked all over the inside of it. If you're getting a lot of smoke and blow by, you'll end up with a ton of oil going straight into your throttle body.

hmm, in the intake piping from intercooler to my intake manifold i have a filter by the MAF and theres no oil there, so its probably all caked in the intercooler, but i know what you mean. Ill check all the connections tomorrow and me and two other guys are trying to find me a turbo. im finding prices all over, 500 for aftermarket that is useable for the car, up to 1200 for the stock garrett... kind of crazy, i want to stick with original parts but i cant afford 1200...

You can always find another Garrett that is similar in size. A few people on here are running T25 turbos off of Nissans. I would look around online for what's available and what you can get to work.

any t25 is fine right? Which nissan has it? Also what do talons have in them? 14 or 25? ill keep looking but will only a 25 fit or what kind of changes are needed for a disco?

you're right. finally got the chance to actually work on her today, got all the pipes tight and secure, shes blowing lots of smoke from sitting for a few days hah, but the boost is working :)

how difficult is it to put a 28rs in? and do i need to do anything with a boost controller? and is that the only thing ill need is just the turbo itself? Thanks

Sounds like the previous owner really enjoyed his MSP. hahaha LoL

Honestly to me.... THAT MAKES NO FREAKING DIFFERENCE.... Youve tested everything, its clearly the turbo. Slap in a new turbo and do what everyone else is doing... FORGED REBUILD. LMFAO Just use your head man. These dudes amaze me.... "MSP IS FRAGILE" Ima throw a piggy back and 12 PSI??? HHHHHUH?!?!? You can get a china charger cheap, run it low boost, baby it and get your mileage out of it. If you get 50K thats almost 4 yrs lol 15k/YR!? BUILD THE MOTOR, REPLACE THE CHEAP TURBO. Up the boost and enjoy.....

Until Im forged&tuned.... 6PSI ALL DAY BABY!!!! hahhaah

I plan to, its running well now, im looking into both t25 and the 28s, but i need to know what else i need to replace it. if i get another 25 can i just replace it or will i need a boost controller and have to do any settings or anything. Same with a 28, what else am i going to need? Thanks

And with building the engine, i really dont have the money for that at the time being, but if she treats me well and i have her for a while ill definitely look into it just to be more reliable. Not really going for a powerhouse by any means, stock boost is fine with me ha

You can buy the stock CHRA separately and reuse your housings including the wastegate and actuator. Then absolutely nothing needs to be modified and you are as reliable (or unreliable) as the day it came off the lot. If stock power levels are fine for you, this is what I would do. $700, and you should be good for another 100k miles.

ok, so did some tests and 90% positive that its piston rings, and i was told that with worn piston rings the only thing i need to worry about it continually checking my oil, which is normal in turbo cars anyways hah. But wear on piston rings cant really hurt anything else in the engine, just bad for the environment ha. This sound about right? turbo is clean and has no problems, no shaft play.
