Nice. I'm driving right through Ft. Wayne on Wednesday....I may have to stop by and see them. I know it won't get my test done sooner, but hey, I'm driving right by them.

OMG hurry and change your oil ASAP!!!!HAXORZ!!!WTFSTEAKNEGGS!!!111!!!ones and twos!!!ABC!!!BBD!!!the east coast family!!!!

no actually this kind of proves the whole no need to change the oil every 3k theory...bet the oil was black as s*** AND smelled of gas...but low and behold...the oil is still doing it's job! PRAISE OBAMA err Jesus!!

i drive a lot of highway miles. and i dont really drive my car that hard. i can't afford to waste money changing the oil every 3k. i usually try to get it done @ 3750 or less than 4000.

also this test was done with 6qts of oil, spin on adapter, and the rediculously huge NAPA Gold 1516 filter.

more data for the folks who may still have doubt that you don't need to change your oil as often as 3-4K miles

i mean you have 5k on that oil and it is still doing its job! you could prob squeeze another 1k out of that oil.

My previous UOA covered a 5182 mile OCI and included 3 days at an HPDE- 93F temps with 30-40 minute track sessions. The report was still good, and Blackstone stated:

"Feel free to run it another 1,000-1,500 miles before resampling. Check back then, as you may be able to go a little longer on this fill. The TBN read 3.2 so you've got plenty of active additive remaining for the extra miles."

If you are using a good synthetic 5W-30 oil anything less than a 5000 mile OCI is a waste of time and money.

Amsoil recommends changing oil every 15K for turbocharged applications. So I think changing it every 6-7K is more than acceptable.

don't want to threadjack, but since it has been brought up, i'll volunteer to ask the silly Q of the day: why does our oil turn so black so quick? does it have anything to do w/ DI?(huh)

is blackstone local only or can they take sample by mail or are there other labs around different states? what would you search for??
