Blacked Out!!!

I love the sound of the exhaust, its not ricey at all, deep and sexy, and once i get into 5th on the interstate, its really quiet. Im going to try to get a sound clip of it asap.

what did you use to black out your tails?

i used VHT nightshades transparent spray paint from Summit.com $10 ea can, only needed one can. Looks good. and you can see the turn signals and reverse lights still.

Me and a buddy did mine yesterday. No night shades... just sprayed the housing. I'm super happy with it. Can't wait to get my wheels on (monday).

It's gonna look sick.

It's nice having a Volkswagen tuner for a friend. They are freaking perfectionists.

See sig....

^^Looks sick! Man I can't wait to get this done!!

My only concern is taking off the bumper. Is it hard at all?? Or is it just the two screws underneath the car and the ones in the wheel well????

Thanks,
Matt

It's all pretty easy... just take your time. If you try to do it fast... you'll screw something up.

Good luck man... (2thumbs)

Hard? Nah... not really.

Time consuming? Quite.

As said... just take your time and do it right. You'll be fine. I thought it would take me months to get the courage to do this mod... but we just went for it, and it turned out wicked.

Good luck, man.

there are two screws under the bumper, 2 INSIDE each wheel well behind the cover, the 3 plastic once in each well to get access to the 2 inside, two plastic clips near the grill inside the parts tray- the kind u have to pull the center out for it to come out, kinda like the ones holding the panels on inside. i think thats all....

Alright cool. Sometime this week I'm doing this. I'll post pics once I'm finished.

Matt

So after an hour and a half, I finally got the bumper off. Not too hard, just so many screws!!

I broke both of the little tabs under the headlight housing though...

So I was wondering.... do you really need them???

Matt

i've got one housing w/ 4 coats primer, 1 paint, and the other 3 coats of primer. i'm planning on doing 4 primer 3 paint

So they basically just help fill the gap between the bumper and light?

If so, it's nothing much then...

thats exactly what they do. actually the bumper and the side panel. i broke one of mine when doing my headlights. its not anything to worry about.
