blacked out headlights

basically, take off the front bumper, bake the headlights, pry open, unscrew the chrome piece and paint it and then put it back together...it all sounds simple enough but it wasn't, it was hard, plus that was the first time taking my car apart like that, but if i had to do it again, i can do it faster...

call sean or rishie at auto r & d in san jose, CA...they a few sets available right now, their number is 408 947 0505...tell em that ron referred you to em...thanks...

1) I love the chromed-out engine.
2) Did you paint the lenses? I was kinda thinking it would be nice to paint the lights like a Canadian P5...Was getting the headlight back together a problem? Are they still watertight??
Thanks!

Nice job on the lights dog. I did mine red. I am trying to get the pics up though. I am having trouble finding my uncle's dig cam. It took awhile to do them, but worth the hassle. Yes, the lights are still watertight. I took mine through a high pressure car wash after I was done with no fogging up of the lenses. I am working on my pics because I want to see if yall like the red lenses. Peace.

im not diggin those eyelids much but the lights look soooooo good  <---my eyes are poppin outta my head!

thanks...i painted the inside part which was chrome to a gloss black...it is watertight, to be on the safeside, after i put back the lenses, i also used silicon adhesive and just spread all the the place, also i washed my car the next day and no fogging up...oh yeah, let me know when there's another hwy 9 fun run...

timm:
the mintblue grill and eyelids cost 300.00 and i got em painted for 80.00

Rawny: Headlights came out awesome man, but it begs the question... is there anything we can do to black out the fog lights? Or will that render them useless...

we could use a light tint spray, but it would defeat the purpose...i guess we could do it just for looks, i think it would look dope too...

so do the lights still function properly? what i meant to say is do they emit the same amount of light as they use to?

Yeah, it looks like you tinted them as well as painted the chrome piece. Is this right?

they have the same output as before because i didnt paint the reflector things that are part of the bulb, i only painted the surrounding plastic piece...they are two separate pieces in there...if i were to paint the reflector things, then the light output would be less...

nice work. it looks good.
i have got to get one of those grills, it really changes the look of the front end.
