Bike inside CX-5?

I usually carry our bikes on a hitch rack and will install a hitch when we get our CX-5, but right now if I just want to take my road bike somewhere locally for a ride I can fold down the seats in our Outback and slide the bike in the back without even taking the front wheel off. Seems like this might not be possible in a CX-5 or maybe possible but tight. Any experience here?

I've not done this, as I have a hitch mounted bike rack, but with the back seat folded, I believe that it's doable.

I frequently transport my road bike in the back of my CX-5 (rear seats folded) without having to remove the front wheel. Have not tried it with more than one bike, though.

It's a tight fit, done it with an ebike. Have to fold the handlebars down. It weighs almost 90 lbs without the batteries so it's a pain to lift in and out.

I always use the rack for our bikes, but my road bike only weighs 17lbs so easy to lift in. (BTW, my e-bike only weighs around 38lbs with batteries!)
