Big Brake kits?

You guys are making me feel lucky. My wife doesn't really get into car modifications and racing (with the exception of our miata) but does like fixing things and working with her hands, so I usually don't have any trouble getting her to help out in the garage. Actually I consider her hands a "special tool" since they are way smaller than mine and save tons of time on some things.

So far fronts work but have to use Honda hat for front and shim inbound side of hangar with two shims to compensate for offset approximate 1/8". This is not a problem because mounting bolts have plenty of thread engagement. Both knuckles on each car are the same, lines are same only difference are clip location. As for the rear both cars use same hub mounts and it should be cut and dry however fiesta offset is higher and the hat is the only problem. It needs a hat with a 8x7 bolt pattern to fit on willwood rotor and 1.18 offset Hondas does not work and neither does miata because their rotor is 9" and this kit 11 3/4. If we can't find a hat they can custom make one but I'm sure price is retarded unless large quantity was ordered. Unfortunately there is not enough material on fiesta hat to just redrill.

These are shots off fiesta in air for comparison.
We are still waiting on kit and while he will ultimately be using this one we are getting whatever else is needed for my car to test fit before he installs it.

If you would like to contribute to troubleshooting I have room for optimism only. Any help is welcome let me know if we are overlooking anything before this happens.

I am following this VERY closely.

As I understand the narrative so far: Front almost exact fit, but need to order it with Honda hat, Rear needs slightly more modification to the hat?

Getting warm! Originally Coleman engineering was going to make custom rotors/hats for $1100. The technician Troy noticed the kit for the fiesta did in fact have plenty of room for a redrill so.... Back to Willwood. Justin at Willwood spoke with a senior engineer and is going to redrill the hats for the Mazda2. Normally this wouldn't work unless they already had a registry ring to fit their hat. But THEY DO! It's the registry ring from the Mazda Miata kit! Took a while but I've convinced them to make it happen. Not only is this moving forward but they are now going to offer a kit for the Mazda2 later on it takes 90 days of work to insure product compliance before they can market it but its inevitable seeing as they already have most of it made. However I'm not waiting any longer and will be installing as soon as it arrives.:)

I will post pics and info ASAP. Thanks to all interested.

Yes my brakes are coming, just did my friends Fiesta wednesday and it went ultra smooth I'm impressed at the amount of forward thinking this company does and tech support is terrific! I will post as soon as it arrives. They have it in line at the shop to be drilled so ETA is hard to gauge.

Great job getting Willwood to make a Mazda 2 kit available for front and rears Ryan! I can get Willwoods so if they do become available you know who to PM. :)

Is Wilwood giving BigBlueDart the runaround? LINK

Thank you for the inquiry with Wilwood Disc Brakes. Wilwood cannot confirm that our Ford Fiesta kit will fit the Mazda 2 applications. We are correctly not looking into making a kit for the Mazda 2

Regards,

My guess is that whoever responded to my email didn't really bother looking into it. Then again, as Font asked... any updates?

Any updates on this thread? Ryno666, do you have a part number for the Honda hat for the front?
