well my GF was painting some stuff outside the other day and i guess the wind was just right beacuse i know have specks of paint all over my window and car. im currious if anyone has run into this and what is the best/easiest way to cleen this up. Im not to worried about the paint i have enough wax on it and i can take the clay bar to it and get it all cleen. but the windows are a pain. not to happy with the GF but its done alredy so cant complain too much.

Clay bar with diluted soapy water as a lubricant. This should "scrub" the glass.

If you're careful, some acetone or paint thinner on a rag will eat right through it. I wouldn't do this unless the clay bar doesn't work, and you're not good with a razor blade.

No razor blades..if you use the wrong ones..you can and will scratch the glass.

The finest, finest, FINEST steel wool can remove waterspots from the window without scratching it.

As for paint speckles, I would try goo gone.

i didnt know how the clay bar would work on the windows but i thought i would try it on one of the back ones see how it went. im going to avoid the asatone its not good for the paint. cool thanks all. oww i think the new GF mod might be in order.

if you use a razor that is designed to remove bumper stickers you should be fine. No worries. I had some paint on my windshields and I used a razor and it worked fine. By far the easiest and cheapest route.

It works really well. You'd be surprised how dirty the windows are even when they look clean.

You aren't just whistling in the wind. I am always amazed at how much of an improvement something as simple as the newspaper trick does for glass after it has already been cleaned once.

I've always had good luck using a bigger hammer. On the girlfriend, not the car. Really though, try double ought steel wool, scrub vigorously with windex to lube the glass to keep it from getting scratched. Then, I think I'd still try the hammer on the gf. Lol!(pissed)

Glass Cleaner

. . . sorta after the fact, but you did ask:
#0000 steel wool on the glass - fine enough not to scratch, but abrasive enough to remove all the paint o'spray, and any other surface dirt !
clay bar on the paint, followed by a good waxing ! (drinks)

Whoever recommended the steel wool is spot on. I spent some time as a body shop painter and that's what we ALWAYS used, I use it to just clean my windows, works amazing, but DO NOT use it on side mirrors!
