Okay this might be the way i will go with these upgrades. I would go with the TMIC and BPV. Reason being; they will both be easy to swap b4 my dealer visits. Which one would be better though BPV or BOV and why? I would love a Downpipe, but i hear its a pain to install and you wont pass Emissions test and not to mention voids warranty. Swaping in and out seems like a pain.
CAI + SU motor Mount + TMIC + BPV = 290-300 HP/TQ?

pardon my ignorance, but what does a motor mount have to do with horsepower gains?

or is it there to make sure, as lestat stated above, that an "upgrade (to) the motor mount (will make) all that power (get) to the ground the way it's supposed to."
????????

wheel hop = you lose alot of hp to the ground u should be getting

and with a aftermarket mm it helps stop the wheel hop soo u can have those spinning tires on the road and not in the air

MM also allows you to help avoid missed shifts while useing HP from the information I have gathered on this forum.

so bushings plus mm and a short shifter means easier shifts. wheels spinning less. less mushy feel of t3h tranny?

bypass valve is the way to go, i have the hks which can be switched from vta the bypass for fun. the piece runs 250-280. i think with those mods u can be relatively clsoe to ur goals in hp. maybe getting a FMIC in the future. more gains and apparantly works alot better than a tmic. (great comparision on the dot org site, Haltech FTW!) a option for exhaust is getting a cutout at the 2nd cat, i plan on doing this because i dont want to swap dp's. 250 for a electric cutout and u got Open TBE.

best upgrade for me, not power gains wise by any means... cut out the resonators on the exhaust! Gives the car a badass grumbly sound. You'll loose the sleeper look and you will got gain hp from it, but beats spending $600+ for a catback and you'll get a nice sound ;)

Just got my insert in and the car feels like it did when I first bought it.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Someone said this is the way our car should have come from the factory... and thats right.

Will this Exhaust Upgrade mess with my emissions/smug test? Would the dealer have something to say about it?

Dont think anyone is looking at this thread anymore but you can also buy a test pipe. They are cheap and pretty easy to install. Yields some solid hp gains as well. Bolt on mod so you can take it off for dealer visits. quick question though. Which test pipe is better (2.5 vs 3 inch). I dont think I will upgrade my catback exhaust. Not going to pay 500 bucks for a loud ride and 2 hp. I like hearing my CAI anyway. I read somewhere that if you get the bigger test pipe with the smaller stock catback system is causes some airflow problems. Also does the 3 inch bolt on easily with the stock catback ??Could anyone help me clear this up . . . thx

just wondering... how many resonators is in our speed 3? i have hear so many ppl removing them... which one do they remove to have a badass sound? and would that bad ass sound is what ppl consider as ricey? lol oh and what's is a reasonable price for removing them at a muffler shop? thx (help)

I think the speed only has one resonater in the catback portion. Keep in mind that the multiple cats in the exhaust also reduce the noise / emissions. After replacing my test pipe which removed one of the cats in the middle of the exhaust, the car got noticably louder. Unless you actually upgrade your exhaust your car will sound "ricey" if you take off resonaters / or put fart cans. Im sure that will create some very annoying drone too. Im not talking from experience so I could be wrong. Had a friend who had a honda prelude with some sort riced out exhaust. The fart cans after about 20 minutes of driving were giving me a blasting headache. My GHL exhaust sounds so much sweeter with no drone. Resonaters ftw !

thx coyfish! is cats the same thing as Catalytic Converter? if i place a custom cat back exhaust, would it pass the california emission test?

Cat-back where you leave both catalytic converters? If it's anything like over here, yes it will pass as long as you don't touch the cats. I don't know about Cali though, I hear lots of crazy stuff

I have the CAI and The Su motor Mount already. If i get the exhaust i mean the catback exhaust what gains would i see? and what is a "bpv"? is catback exhaust the only kind i could get without voiding my warranty?

A BPV will give you HP, I wouldn't call it gaining HP I would call it more like Freeing hp, as in all bolt ons really just "free up" horsepower. Your best bet would be a cat'ed down pipe and a standback. You can get a tune from somebody that has that set up, and you should be well over 300 hp. At least from what I've seen.

I would not even mess with the catback, get the downpipe instead, for about the same price and you will see like a 30 hp increase just with that. And if you add BPV and standback, Oh Boy, you will be in business. (headbang)
