Best replacement for BPV?

i just installed the forge diverter and its great. Holds boost much better imo.
I have only had it on my car for a couple hours but its running smoother.

I have the BoostSciences bpv on right now, and I like it. I also had the Forge bpv, and I liked that one as well. Just traded with another forum member cause I liked the blue cap on there. ;)

I have the Forge BPV and it works great. I run 9.5psi daily and ocassionally 11psi, and I've never had any issues with it. From what I've heard the TurboXS one is good too. I don't know much about the boostscience valve, but hey they all should be better job than the stock bpv :)

if you are gonna only be boosting 8 psi, then why change your bpv. put htat money towards another mod. sandspeed ypu say you can actually tell a difference in how smooth your car is after changing the bpv?!

yea, its a great diverter valve. I think its better. My stock bpv was crapping out ...it was on its last leg i guess. My stock bpv was patrially broken because i tightened the clamp to tightly and broke it.

then i could understand. so many people "jump on the band wagon" when it comes to modding. look at the cold air intakes. they do practically nothing for the car yet everyone has one. *i got one becuase i was under the impression that my fmic would not fit with the stock box*

Hummm, maybe your right, but again Im not an expert so I cant tell for sure. Just read so many posts saying that the BPV had to be replaced when you up the boost thats why! Maybe Im just biased. So how much do you guys think the stock BPV could support in boost. At 8 psi would it still be fine?

Thanks

well... the stock BPV and the design of the piping doesn't really allow for enough flow of air, that's why there is turkey. people who have gone dual BPV/BOV setup or have used a larger BOV have gotten rid of most of the turkey. This means that they are releasing enough pressure to have no turkey.

Unless your stock BPV is leaking or is damaged, then it shouldn't really need to be replaced unless you want something new or you're tired of the turkey!

No "band wagon" for me

The reason "everyone has one" is that they are a basic mod that can help unlock at least a small amount of hp that the stock air box is constricting. Did you happen to look at the setup on the stock box? It's so indirect in it's setup that it's almost a hinderance in the system. It hardly get the job done, much less gets it done right. The CAI is just a basic way that I, along with a few others I'm sure, chose to eliminate a complex air induction system so that the air coming is has a less complicated and quicker journey to it's destination. I wasn't jumping on any "band wagon". I was just making a quick and easy mod that would help my car breathe a little better. Isn't that a major point with forced induction anyway?

The point I'm trying to make is if you want to add a mod to your car, then do it. Whether you have a good reason to or not. Personally, When I upgrade to hardpipes I am going to run a Dual BPV/BOV system. And I am looking into upgrading to the Forge BPV when I do so. Is it going to add anything as far as hp to my car? I would guess not. Is it going to be something I wanted to do? Without a doubt. I think it will be a good thing to do especially if I decide to boost 10+psi just to be on the safe side. I'd rather have on that I know is going to work correctly than take a chance on the stock one crapping out or cracking or anything else. Wingman... if you want to upgrade the BPV take what you read here and apply it with your other research and just do it.
