Best recommendation for cat replacement in my situation?

:
2003 MSP
Hey guys, havent posted in a while, but I am the owner of a quite high-mileage (220k+) MSP that is still running great but is currently having issues passing california smog because of (reportedly) a very very worn out catalytic converter. I've seen a few older threads in which some senior members have offered a discounted midpipe or two for others with cat issues. My mechanic is currently trying one last trick to see if it can get the car to pass smog, but barring that I'm going to need a new cat sooner or later.

What would you guys recommend as the most economical permanent solution to this problem? Also, if no one happens to have a cat lying around, any links to an online parts place that might have what I'm looking for would be great.

Thanks!

lol if you werent all the way in CA I would sell you mine. Been sitting in my garage for years haha has maybe 10k miles on it.

yeah, in california, most economical option is to find a used stock piece. all aftermarket pieces will not pass the visual, unless you have one of "those" mechanics.
