Best OEM replacement option Oil.

Talked to local Mazda dealer.

Reg oil change is with their 0W20 bulk oil supplied by Petro Canada up here. Castrol Synthetic is $20 extra.

Anyone know if the bulk supplied oil from PetroCan to Mazda is the same Idemitsu? Would you recommend it over the Castrol?

Thanks

I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 and a Mobil 1 oil filter. Valvoline synthetic 5W-30 oil is also a good oil. Both are the best in the oil industry. I have doing research on oils for about 60 years and their are some oils that I refuse to put in my engines (even lawn mowers). Some of them have been mentioned, but it is up to you to do your own research. And you should do research on oil filters too. You will be surprised!

The Mazda dealership is 5min from my place, they change the oil with their moly brand. I only pay for labor for the next 7 years, oil and filter are free. So, being under warranty, if their moly "does have" more iron in it and puts noticeable wear or damage to the engine guess who fixes it? Mazda. Oil reviews and types are mostly over-rated. Use and good brand, change at the specified times and you'll be good.
