Best Exhaust!

what guy?

after intake... you get exhaust? a full catback. get something thats over 93 db, you wont break the law then. either way, paying money for someone to weld a muffler to your stock piping is a waste. you dont gain any horsepower from it, and you wont make much of a sound.

Protephile is the guy here that sells the simota CAI for 90 bucks! Then dude which exhaust will give me more HP but still sound like the apexi ws2??

i dunno dude.

if hes done business with other guys on here, he should be reliable.

you cant have noticeable horsepower gains, without the noise that comes with it. its impossible.
putting a muffler on wont give you any gains

Nice! So the ws2 sounds quite with stock header/catback, what aout if you put OBX headers/stock catback/WS2??

To make it simple.. if you already have WS2 welded on and you change either header/exhaust system, your car is gonna sound louder?or keep the ws2 sound?

Thanks!

P.S.: what does JDM means?

Yeah,Japanese Domestic Market

Anway,my setup is actually the OBX header,2.5 piping w/ the WS2.

After installing the header, sound got slightly louder and raspier.Sounds really good especially when you rev it the engine.

What brand is the 2.5 piping?? or just rehular tubes?? whatcat yo have?? wht about midpipe??

the cat is the stock cat

as in

catback. the exhaust starts behind the cat. you gotta understand, pipes are pipes. doesnt matter what "brand" as long as its mandrel bent, which means its bent from both sides of the pipe (as opposed to crush bent) its all the same stuff. the midpipe, is the pipe after the cat. the midpipe is the pipe between the axle back and the cat.

your making this harder then it is. save up the money, it cant be over 500 bucks. you already have the muffler. be patient and do it right.

I pulled the stock axle back off a MSP. At idle and regular driving there is no anoying noise at all, at 3/4-WOT it sounds very nice. But im guessing maybe 1-3hp gain if that.

i did the same, when your not in the upper rpms the sound is nice. Although I have headers and an intake which prolly play some part as well...

edit: Its actually funny when i roll into somewhere just cruising down to a lower speed and people look, then look again (for I guess a fart can rocket launcher) and see my stock looking piping. There like " wtf? "

I had a Megan which got crushed in an accident. I didn't like it- tip was too big, and it was just waaaay too loud.
Replaced it with a Racing Beat which was much better. Sound at WOT was great, although it was a little too quiet at cruising speeds. But it had a classy tip and added a little HP.

I'd suggest the Racing Beat.

Umm..pretty sure just custom piping. The guy just used the same pipes that I had from my custom exhaust that I had before that was loud.

Stock cat and no midpipe since the header extends all the way to the second cat.

Thx for the explanations guys but i'm not making it harder..i just don't know what i need to change. And i don't have the apexi ws2 yet, i dont have anything. My exhaust under my car looks like this, tell me onthe same graph what i need to change/leave. THANKS A LOT!!!!!

Get the OBX header. Then is the midpipe, it goes from the header to the first piece of the catback portion & usually contains a flex fitting for vibration isolation purposes & the cat itself. Either buy one made or get the flex fitting & hi flow cat-magnaflow 2.25 = 57 shipped off ebay. I have a very reliable cool exhaust shop near me that has done all my s*** for 30 years so had the guru there hook me up. I used the stock flange because it had the spring bolts & same id as the OBX. Then 2.25 ss to flex fitting then 2.25 to the cat & then 2.25 to stock catback flange location. My catback is all t304 mandrel bent 2.25 piping to resonator then to stock muffler axle back flange location then magnaflow street series 5x8 muffler with angle tip. All pipe stainless 2.25. Cool low tone throughout rpm. Sets off all car alarms in parking lots like some sonic wave, LOL, but is hardly any louder than stock on freeway. No annoying droning. Stock stereo still completely listenable. Love it. No vibration at all with the flex fitting, highly recommend it especially with non oem motor mounts. Bolts together in all stock locations & uses all stock hanger locations.

i just talk to my friend and for now he told me to remove the midpipe (resonator) and weld on a regular 2.5 tube, get rid of oem muffler and weld on apexi ws2

I'm thinkin that might be loud with a header but maybe about right if stock exhaust manifold......maybe. Tell us after you do it.

it will be very loud without the resonator. think of the resonator, as a kind of pre-muffler. it bounces the exhaust around, muting the sound a bit. take it out, and it will be louder.

get it flanged, because if you ever decide to go with a different exhaust size, or a high flow cat, or a different muffler, you can just unbolt it. if its welded your forced to have someone cut the welds for you

Got it! then for now put the ws2 and then get a high flow cat, however i have another option, weld on my muffler but its too loud..then which resonators will catch more noise? the stock one or an aftermarket? see this is my muffler

Oh, the people above mentioned the resonator. I had the mangaflow muffler put on without removing the resonator, but I ended up having it cut off because the exhaust got a little too quiet for me at mid to high rpms. But either way the magnaflow has a great sound and I noticed a definite power increase.

a stock resonator will reduce the noise most. because an aftermarket one increases the flow of exhaust. resulting in a sound increase
