Best Digital Picture Camera?

:
10 MS3
Im in search of a good(not too expensive) digital camera that I can do photoshoots with. I know they keep going up in Pixels, but when will it stop? Can anyone recommend one?

Look at the Canon line and pick which fits you best. Powershot is inexpensive yet kick ass for amateur-professional photographers.

I like my A70 as a point-and-shoot camera but sometimes the pictures don't quite come out how I would expect.

I've always liked Sony models because they allow shooting in 2:3 mode as well as 4:3. I'm sure a few other brands do as well but a lot of brands don't.

Im also in the market for a digital camera, but don't know which to get. If someone could post pics with different mp cameras that would be great.

i got a used sony F717 5.0 MP for $500 ( originally $850)
idk if that is out of your range but it is a great camera.

check this site it's the best for reviews.

A full size picture from even a 3.2mp camera would be too large to post here. The quality of the picture rests more with the optics than it does the mps. The Cannon A-series have been popular for this reason. They are a great package for the price. But if you're looking for more than a point-and-shoot camera you may want to look at cameras with larger optics...but of course they will be more expensive.

Here is a sample of pictures taken with my A70...

(My sig was also taken with the A70 but I doctored it in PS)

First off, how much do you want to spend?

If you want the ability to upgrade with lenses and things once you get better at photography, I would suggest that you go with a SLR.

Also if you want to be able to do "photshoots" with it I am assuming you would like professional quality pictures. With digital SLR's, you can pick your focus point, ISO settings, shutter speeds, etc... all while being able to post edit your photos with tools like Photoshop.

A really nice option (if you have about 700 to spend) is the Canon digital rebel (300D). The price has gone down on it quite a bit since the new Digital Rebel XT came out (350D). It takes phenomonal pictures and is an amazing bang for the buck performance camera!

DO NOT GET KODAK... IT SUCKS BALLS.

i bought one last august, and the thing doesnt take night pics at all, and the day pics are bad unless you are viewing them on its little screen. As soon as you import to your computer, they look like ass.

I recently just bought the Sony F7 5.2 MP. its the small profile camera with a 3.5 in. lcd screen. That this rocks on as far as point and shoot is concerned.

the canon rebel line is great. new ones are comming out so the old ones are going for cheap

Thank You guys, it seems cannon has gotten the most votes. I'll be checking them out this weekend. Someone said the pixels dont matter as much as quality, what should I be looking for instead of pixels? The camera will be mostly used to post pics on the net :D

Optical zoom. The Olympus C-725 has 8x optical zoom and it is really nice to have. Ignore the digital zoom.

The other things would be whether there is exposure settings for the more advanced user (or as you get more experienced with photography).

Also look into the video clip recording feature. Although the cheapest digital video camcorder will deliver much better videos, it is still nice to have that feature.

What can you get thats decent for 200-300 bucks?

I would recommend the Fuji S5100. Great 10x zoom and lots of features. Not to mention it feels like a REAL camera.
