I am starting to suspect some of my idle issues may not be unusualy for us.

When on the highway, going about 60 mph, moderatley accelerate for 2 seconds then quickly hold the clutch to the floor.

How low does your RPMs drop to?

Mine go to 0 now but the car recovers.
If I give the car a little tap of the gas before it hits 1000 RPM, the rpms never drop below 700 as I expect they shouldn't.

What has made me ask is that recently I have noticed the cars fuel pressure, after I turn off the car to be about 40 PSI, which is to rich for idle. I am starting to suspect that when returning to idle from acceleration the car is flooding slightly.

With moderate acceleration directly back to idle, my idle does not drop below 700.

With heavy acceleration directly back to idle it may dip to 500 on occasion, but it recovers immediately.

I have the FM kit and it's happend before, to the point where the battery light goes then the rpm's shoot up and everythings cool, it hasn't happend in a while, I think it just took a bit of time for the ecu to adjust, plus the exact thing happend when I installed my cams a year ago, then after about 10 starts it ran perfect.

Have you recently unplugged you negetive battery terminal, cause that will reset the ecu to manufactor settings. if so give it some time and it should fix itself.

I reset the computer about 5 cycles ago now so I will test again later.

What happens if you accelerate full out for 2 seconds then push and hold the clutch immedatly after, how low does it drop.
I should have added to have the lights and heater on.

I am just trying to guage if I fixed my issue or just one of many, sounds like one of many.

Some clown crashed into me last week. Minor damage, no injuries, no insurance...

Anyway, it is at the body shop now, getting fixed. I have been getting an idle drop every now and again, however I don't know what is doing it.

It might be the problem you speak of....

right now mine won't drop past 700rpms, well I sould say it rarely drops that low, but before it would drop to zero, or close to it. It happend more at night, so yeah my lights were on, I don't remember about the heater, probably it was damn cold around here when I installed the turbo.

This is getting on my nerves. i found that my down pipe wasn't secure so I found a nut and retightened everything and it was great for 2 hours then the idle would drop to 0 on the high way again. The next day it was a little worse and today its alomst back to what it was before I tightened the down pipe but the down pipe is still tight as hell!

1st MP3, still haven't found the problem yet huh! Hurry up cause I swear that is the exact problem I'm having and it's really pissing me off. I know it's not a vaccum leak, and I don't have time to really go through my car to find out what the problem is. But everytime you mention the idle problems you have, it sounds like your driving my car. One thing I did notice was that when I first start my car up and it is warming up, the car idles perfect and my voltage is between 14.2 to 14.4. Once it starts to get warm, I notice the voltage start to drop down to about 13.8 to 14.0 and then when I accelerate hard and push in the clutch (coming to a stop or just to see what the idle will do) the car will either die out or drop down till all the battery light comes on and then catches. Sometimes the idle will drop down, catch, and then lop big time 2 to 3 times. Does your car do this also? Keep me posted!

damn Pro5, now your sounding like my car or like it was. The ECU fixed itself and now it's all alright.

yep, many times.

It doesn't drop or shut off anymore, no rough idle either, now like I said earlier it took close to 10 starts to fix itself after re-connecting the battery terminal, but my dad dissconnected the cable to the negetive to clean the terminal on the battery while I got rid of the fuel pressure gauge. And then woulden't you know it the rough idle and drops were back. But they went away later the next day.

Hey maybe you should lower your boost down to 6psi and check that out.
