i was thinking that i should probably replace my battery in my mazda considering how hard i use it. (don't ask) now my questions are.
1. what type of optima do i need?
2. will an optima fit in the stock battery box without modification?
tia.

i'm worried that all the times i start it will kill it alot faster. i deliver pizza which means it will start and stop 20 times a day.

1. Red top
2. Yes

Don't replace it until you have to, though. No sense wasting money.

How often do you run it longer than 20 mins at a time?

except for the occasional delivery i'm almost always driving for at least 20 mintues.

You should be fine, then. It takes about 20 mins for your battery to recharge from starting, so you're not putting much extra strain on it. I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted you at least 5 years.

i got teh red top, great improvement over the stock

Cool. First-hand experience. In what ways is it an improvement, exactly?

start up mainly, also i can have the radio on with the car off for longer, it would drain up in 30 minutes with the old one, this one hasn't drained yet

i also think my headlights r brighter, but i didn't check for a b4 and after

only 20 times??? must not have very many deliveries.....

well when you have 10 drivers and over 100 deliveries you don't do that many by yourself. more drivers = you get your pizza faster

yeah, the pizza hut i order from only has one driver...pizza takes like 2 hours to get here...

dude, why don't you just go pick it up? (hand)

My redtop in the Protege would give me over an hour of keyoff listening pleasure...i say a little over an hour, like 5-10 mins when i'd sneak some extra lunch time...lol
I'm sure it would last longer (seem to recal they had a 140min reserve) but thats the longest i'm able to just sit in the car without driving....lol

YellowTops is better suited to keyoff listening, while the redtop is better suited for dailiy use and some keyoff listening.

You be a good candidate to keep the battery cool air scoop (if/when you have/get an intake)
