Battery Light Came On 12-7-10

I usually go with a little more slack, like 3/8 inch or so. How old is your timing belt, water pump. I had a crazy squeal and i could never find it. Finally found that it was my timing belt tensioner pulley, only after i had replaces all acc. belts and alt and wp. This may be what you are having. Do you have any smells like burnt rubber or burning metal? or just squeals?

I tightened both belts a little more (prolly the 3/8" range) and I will be driving it today. Only new stuff is 2 belts and alternator. No smells yet!
