Im just going to use it to hold my phone if I use it as a GPS. The bit that holds it in at the top, I slide up and down to attach it to the phone. I really need to use the smallest black connector with a spacer (like what's on the bottom pretty much)

I hoped that the bionicle bit I used so it pivots would hold the phone would be strong enough to support the weight would work, but the phone weighs too much so I just used the small 2 block wide "windshield" bit to prop it up. Its angled just right for me so I can see the screen as im driving.

Very cool, also very resourceful (2thumbs)

My mudflaps came in the mail today, crappy pic

Thanks :) if you had a pocket, I could take more detailed pics. I still will for future reference, but yeah, I didnt do my homework last night cause I was busy working on it! I had the idea as i was sitting in my car the night before wondering how cool it would have been to have a phone mount.

Im liking the flaps. :) cant wait to see them installed mate!

I have a few more things to share but I'll put them up as you update ;) keeps ya busy! Haha

I only mention third gear because I use it most often. After driving the car today, I'd say the play is closer to ~2 inches. All gears are the same. That's a good tip about resting your hand on the shifter, I'll keep it in mind. I'll also probably check my bushings.

edit: The car never pops out of gear

I checked mine too, probably more like less than an inch on mine. Yours is fine with a full shifter, id imagine.

Mines stock, doesn't move a whole lot... Maybe its lenient tolerances?

yeah, when i actually checked and was paying attention...it was much tighter than I thought...

I don't think its so much leniency on tolerances, as i'm sure the internal gating is extremely spec oriented...its just all the stuff outside of the gear box with the linkage...lots of joints, connections, rubber bushings, plastic ball cups, spring clips, damper extension, etc...any number of those can begin to wear out, which will introduce some slop...

just be glad we don't have some other make's linkages...it could be a hell of a lot worse...

When I had my stock shifter, I would put it in gear and then be able to wiggle it quite a bit. I upgraded to the B&M short shifter and kept my stock bushings, it got tight as hell.

Yeah, I don't know why I said leniency. I could imagine the gears themselves would be within .00X inches. If not finer. I should've said linkage and stuff. Im pretty happy with mine as far as the play goes. Not massive from my own experiences.
