I'm wondering what good bars there are in the Antioch/Gurnee/Grayslake areas. The 20 new teachers at Antioch want to get together Fridays after school and (drunk). If you know of any, please put down the name and location .

Jesse Oaks, Old Gages Lake Road in Grayslake just off of 45, south of Grand Avenue
Cue and You, corner of 120 and 45 in Grayslake

those are my top three picks in the area. Gurnee sucks for bars. Grayslake has tons of them I would choose any day of the week over Gay-nee. If I were a bar person, that is

You're a teacher? In my opinion, it's the toughest job in the world. People who've never done it have no idea about all the time, dedication, and commitment that's involved in teaching. My mom has been teaching for umpteen years and loves it, but she's given up A LOT in order to do what she does. I'm not so sure it's worth it (especially when you consider the salary), but she finds it to be rewarding nonetheless. One must definitely have the passion and drive for this kind of work. Back in the day when I was an engineer, I spent a day at my mom's high school teaching the kids a lesson about how cars work. After that day, I never went back; nor do I ever plan to. Talk about a LONG day - you're dealing with so much s*** at once, not to mention all the responsibility. Sheesh...I could go on and on. I say hit the bars every night and enjoy yourself (that is, when you're done with planning and grading for the following day). I have tons of respect for teachers. Hats off to you, man. (2thumbs)
