bare bones audio for speed 3?

If your going to go just with speakers I would get MB quart components, kicker components alpines, etc, something that will cost about 120-150 on ebay, but getting those and an amp to push them and wiring would hit your price cap. Really though nothing replaces a sub, new interiors really just add clarity. Did you see the 8in custom enclosure on here someone is making for the side panel in the trunk. It would add that extra bass your looking for to somewhat round off your sound. But youll still need an amp and then new speakers up front.

Glove box is a no go for an amp though, it will be on protect probably more often then youll even use it. Under the seat would be decent for the amp only, depending on its size though. The trunk really is the best place for everything...

If you dont turn it up much I think the stock system would be sufficeint, and you dont seem happy with it, so I would go for a sub, a small one even, it will really make a difference. You could just keep the stock interiors and get a small sub, put your bass on -1 or -3 and have the sub turned up, you can cheat the stockers to be a little louder that way, and then you still have a full sound from the sub, I wouldnt go any lower than -3 though because Ive noticed the midrange really starts to drop off after that, Im not a big fan of tweets and bass.....
