Hey there I work for Mazda and work on all models. But what I notice about CX-7 and where owners lack to consider is doing your tire rotation on a regular basis. The way the suspension is set up on Mazda's are very unforgiving. If you dont do your tire rotations the tires tend to feather pretty bad. Meaning the the inner thread on the tires tend to get miss shaped and start to make noise when going over 25 mph. That 30k service is BS. keep up on the oil changes and tire rotations, buy your own air filter at 15k and save yourself $60 dollars. it takes 3 minutes to put in. hope i was helpful.

Got a question on a 2007 CX-7 with a turbo. I take it this is a 2.3L I4 with the turbo. Sister-in-law's car. She thinks its a V6 turbo. Anyway it sounds like she burnt up the turbo by doing one oil change in 30,000 miles. Nice!!

My question is how involved is it to swap out the Turbo. Dealer won't do the work under warranty. Don't blame them, oil wasn't changed. Car has no power and turbo is making noise. I am guessing the bearing are burnt up?

Any help is appreciated. Sorry for not being able to provide more info. 1 it's not my car and 2 I have not seen it myself yet. Just trying to get an idea of what we can do to get it fixed without spending 2K.

with only 1 oil change in 30 probally ruin the engine an the turbo probally need to be looking for a used engine to replace it with

Now I'm following ya. Yeah, I have to agree with you that the engine can not be looking good. I think the plan is to get it at least running half way decent and trade it in. I personally feel that they should just get what they can from the dealer and buy a new car. That was my initial suggestion, but hey it's not my car. They had no idea you have to change the oil on a regular basis and neither seems to understand the detrimental effect that oil, which has been cooked in a turbo, can do to the engine and related parts when not changed.

Believe me, I about fell out of my chair when I found out the car had a turbo and only had one oil change. Suprised it lasted this long.

Sorry Er0k. I just realized I hijacked your thread here. Did not mean for that to happen. Back on topic, maint schedule tips.

Try to find an good used engine from a salvage yard if yours is relly shot. 10,000 miles oil changes do not wreck an engine but, sure puts some extra wear on it.

awesome, i honestly thought for a bit i wasnt going to get an answer. lol. is there any oil that is recommended for my car and how much?? i take it in at a car wash spot but im sure they give me some cheap oil. im really not big into cars so im pretty much clueless. i love my cx7 and i want to keep it running good as much as i can. thanks!!!

Read your owners manual front to back and reread the recommended maintenance schedule and follow it from now on.

Power steering fluid change for sure. It seems to get overheated on this car.
Brake fluid flush every 2 years unless you use silicone dot 5 like I do. Don't listen to all the naysayers. They really know nothing. Ask a dupont engineer.
