Bad deal in Canada?

i got my p5 for around 27k w/ moonroof, a/c, rust protection, and including all taxes.

Edit: And including the interest rate of 4.9% over 5 years as well

Whew! Good thing I ask you guys! I manage to find a P5 at another dealership. They were able to give it to me for $26000 (taxes included) with moonroof, leather, polished alloys, A/C, roof rack, cargo tray, and cargo net. That's about $2000 cheaper than the original one I committed to, which has 4 way protection (rust, undercoat, wax, and Scotchguard), 3M protection, and tinting included. The way I figured it, I can get all those things at the quoted rate from the original dealer and still save a good $500

I think my deal is similar to yours, cpcP5, but I chose the 24 months no interest financing.

i just wanted to ask you which dealer did you go to ... may i know?

actually, i m in no supprise u get such a good deal coz ur doing 2 yrs financing ...

whatt!?! that's an amazing deal! which dealership????? if you don't mind me asking. $26,000 minus PST,GST = $22,600

the air, leather, moonroof, polished alloys pkg alone is $23,500

which means you got all the freight,PDI stuff waived and also about $1000 off the MSRP. shiieet, i feel ripped off

good job negotiating though....

i don't think the financing terms has anything to do with the price discount.. i paid cash for mine and i didn't get that good of a deal.

Good to hear. That's an awesome deal. Mine came out to around 21, 77...something w/o all the extra stuff and taxes.

Actually, it's NOT that great...I'm buying it in Alberta so I'm saving PST ;) ....but compared to the original deal, it's definitely better

That's true...but I didn't want them to charge me interest...I may be able to get a better percentage if I put money in the bank and go with 1.9% over 3 years. But I figure, can't beat no interest whatsoever...

BTW, I got it at Sunridge Mazda

Last price I negotiated with the dealer for a 2002 in the vancouver area was for around 25,500-26,000 out the door for an Auto + AC + Grad Rebate w/ cheaper freight back in 02. What the dealer amounted to was bascally 400 off the MSRP as well as selling stuff to be at cost, but really it was a basic deal.

I walked away afterwards but that was the same story given to me by several other dealers, never ended up getting the 2002 p5.

Your value of 28,000 out the door seems right, given the number of options you got (roof rack, undercoating etc). Me personally, would have strayed away from the undercoating but if it's your marginal price and you've made the educated decision, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. We're not here to bash purchasing decisions as if they were flames.

the report i saw (dont know whether to believe it ) is $18,839.00 dealer invoice,MSRP (shown also on mazda canada website) $20,185. 2003 Mazda Proteg5 ES

dealer invoice for a 2003 SE is $23899. There is very little dealer margin on the protege so good luck getting a deal.

23899 > 20185 msrp?

How do you mean 23899? including what, everything? That would put their invoice ABOVE what they're selling for? I was going off an initial base MSRP of 20,185. I was going to add auto/AC, but thats it.

Sounds right to me I was actually quoted $28 and change for the same options I`m not gettin leather I`ll buy some aftermarkets after I pick up the car.
