bad battery?

well, i have a little issue with my AC everytime the compressor engages on the RPMs drop down then comes right back up to normal. it usually start doing this after a while driving it. could my battery be the problem? any answers will be trully appreciated thanks

how old is the battery? usually if your car starts up, the battery shouldnt make a differenence because of the alternator. I would check that first.

well it came when i got the car it looks pretty old and car starts fine and everything but my father told me the problem may be the idle control sensor. also he told me to clean it if the problem still the same i will have to get a new one

i think i have the same thing. Lets say when you are at the redlight, the rps flactuate a little bit. is that what you are talking about? Because if it is, i believe its normal because a lot of japanese cars do that. Honda, Acura, Mazda definetly do that from my experience.

usually when i start driving the car at the begin when the AC compressor engages the rpms goes up a little then when the compressor goes off the rpms go back to normal but after a while driving it with the AC on it get to the point that when the compressor engages on the car looks like its going to shut off

hmm sounds weird, take it to your mechanic. Dealer would rip you off. Sorry not much of a car person so hard for me to tell what it could be :((
Good luck!
