backup light upgrades

so, my backup ligts suck. this was definitely an issue earlier tonight when backing down a long driveway with culverts on either side. finally wound up opening the door and looking back that way, while riding the brakes just to get enough light to see where the hell I was headed.

anyway, theres GOT to be something better. that's not stupid looking.

just googling around (my google-fu is absolutely horrible lately) it seems as if theres really 4 general options, and no specific p5 info. option 1 is stock, just replace the bulbs with fresh ones. 2. is some sort of halogen bulb, but this requires a bunch of reworking for the increased electrical and heat loads. 3 is a drop in LED, which apparently puts out less light than stock. 4 is a projector led called a cree. they look like a mini spotlight, but also seem like a mixed bag due to the directional nature.

so, what have you guys done, and how?

I picked up some LEDs. superbrightleds.com has some great options, but they are kinda spendy. The ones I got aren't available on Amazon anymore, but they were direct match-ups to the stock bulbs. It was a night-and-day difference as to light output. I wanna say they were less than $15. Definitely worth it, and practically required since I do overnight pizza delivery.

There are some cree super bright ones like I have in my truck. They probably make same ones that would fit our cars too.
