backfire

has anyone here had any backfire on their ms3, mine has been doing it lately, i cheked everything exhaust, dp, race pipe, theres no leaking of any kind, all the couplings are tight just fine in the fmic. it might be the fact that im running a little too rich. i had the ecu reflash done at the dealer today but it backfire anyway.

The cars run rich from the factory so how do you think the extra gas that isn't burnt off burns off?

You'll get a lot more backfire with a catless downpipe then with a catted downpipe obviously, so I wouldn't be too worry about it. Are you running an aftermarket BOV or BPV, if so which one?

By the way, with my cpe catted downpipe I still get backfire ever so often. You'll keep having it unless you lean the car out a bit.

i have greedy, before i installed the fmic i had hks but when corksport send me the kit the flange on the pipe was made out to fit a greedy bov. im know to worry its just that i hate that freaking pop sound.

Corksport doesn't have a recirc option on the BOV so that's probably why you're getting a lot of backfire from the bov set to vta. I had the same issues with my turbosmart set to vta, I had to set it to full recirc so the popping and backfiring would subside.

I got my first backfire ever yesterday. No change in mods. I went from 6th gear to 4th and stepped on it, that's when I got it. I've done that lots of times with no backfire.

just with a catback exhaust i get a bit of a backfire when I've downshifted and slowing to a stop. car runs very rich, if its not getting enough air you could hear a few pops, nothin too serious

full Corksport TBE i get backfiring. Mainly after crusing/now getting on it for awhile.....then i will floor it and will hear a loud POP!

i have the full corksport and i pops and backfires i get flames sometimes.and when slowing down it rumbles a little i have a video on youtube

lol i get backfires all the time on my speed3, all i got is that turbosmart bov recirc'd and the cobb sri intake, but i think i fuked up on the adjustment to hard or soft, im thinking on switching to hks recirc'd instead since its non-adjustable....

full corksport tbe is AMAZING. i backfire, dont know if i shoot flames but its loud when i backfire haha. i love letting off the gas and hearing that rumble. oh yea and it help me beat a stage 2 sti from a 40

Mine pops when I get on it, usually between 2nd and 3rd. Shoots a pretty good flame.

mine has intake and bov. i get pops when i run vta (only because it runs rich on shifts) when i ran open dp i got ALOT of popping but i think you kno why.

seems normal, my car is recirc and when i keep it low gear i hear the exhaust burbling(best world i could think of to describe it)

I love it when my cars backfires i have a turbos xs hybrid bov/bvp and a mscai and a magnaflow the car sounds so sexy lol
