Ok...so I had a 2008 3 Sport Touring. After driving my dad's Miata (5 speed) I thought it would be fun to have a stick again. So...I traded the 2008 3 for a 2009 Honda Si. What a mistake!!! The Honda had no torque in the low gears and (living in a city with alot of rush hour traffic) the constant shifting was miserable. Last Friday I traded the Honda for a 2010 Sport 3 (auto). I love it!! Never again will I own a stick unless I move to the sticks with no traffic. (Just thought I'd share - it's good to be back...).

For me, it's 30 minutes of bumper-to-bumber to work and 30 minutes of bumper-to-bumper home everyday. It was just a drag (and I do like driving a MT). Between the traffic and the lack of low-end torque, I just couldn't stand it anymore!!!
Depends on the traffic. When your in stop and go traffic it gets annoying having to push the clutch in and out in and out in and out . . . . Kind of traffic where you don't leave 1st gear. Its like right when your about to feather off you have to stop. So your grinding the clutch all the way.
Its not an inconveniance but I would rather be driving automatic in those situations.

wow. thats good. I spend 2 hour to 3 hour in bumber to bumber traffic each day...going from VanNuys to Moreno Valley...I transport cars...(drunk)

Yeah, the SI is a good time...If you drive around at 7K RPMs everywhere. Otherwise...fail.

Not for nothing the Si is an amazing car. Before my Ms3 I had a 07 Civic Si. The si makes 15lb/ft less than max torque steadily from 2k-6k and then max torque all the way from 6k-8k when the cam profiles change over. Does the ms3 make full torque till redline? I dont think so. Which one has more torque duh the Mazda is Turbo. K20 motor in the Si is one of the greatest motors out there. 11:1 compression ratio and just as reliable as any car on the road. I doubt most of you fellas know the difference between compression ratios and what kind of stress an 11:1 puts onto the motor. That being said which car would I rather have? The Speed3 for sure. But there are days i miss my Si too. Dont hate on the si, or on vtec if you don't understand it.

might be the reason that very few engines do run compression that high.
As stated earlier, the k20 engine is insanely reliable. Honda has been building high compression four cylinders for 20 years (f20c, b16, b18c, h22a, k20, etc) and if anything they tend to last longer than the average.
Not saying hondas are better or worse or whatever, but I think if we're going to be comparing the two we might as well stick to arguments that hold water (honda has less tq, etc).

Oh i'm not smashing on Hondas with that statement, but simply saying that since few have perfected it, you don't see many. Never said that Honda hasn't did a good job with it.
