like i said, im allergic to anything with codine in it...like hydrocodone...

no, the darvocet is 500mg. he gave me the 500mg so that i could take two if necessary (i just got off the phone with him) because the next up is 650mg and he said you shouldnt take more than 1k mg at a time...

I was given Darvocet after my accident last month and it was a total of 750mg. That was 100mg of the narcotic and 650mg of the acetaminophen. I was taking 2 of those every 4 hours for the first week, as well as 800mg of muscle relaxors and 800mg of Ibprofen every 8 hours. Sometimes doctors aren't sure what you need so it seems they give you everything lol .. My mom is a nurse and she yelled at me for mixing the tylonol and the ibprofen. Its been exactly a month today and I still have some pain so I take the muscle relaxor/darvocet every so often for a few days to try and calm it down.

The 500 & 650mg refers to the amount of acetaminophen, not the propoxyphene (which is 50 or 100mg). Actually I think Darvocet N-50 has 50mg propoxyphene / 325mg acetaminophen, and the N-100 has 100mg propoxyphene / 650mg acetaminophen. I could be mistaken though.

Hydrocodone is a synthetic drug, it does not contain (the natrual drug) codeine. Same thing with oxycodone.
