B2000 bed on a B2200.....possible? You tell me!

Ok, I have a 1990 B2200 with a badly damaged rear. I found a bed and bumper at the salvage yard, but it's on a B2000. I believe it was a 1989, maybe a little older. The bed and bumper are flawless. The B2000 bed looks exactly like my B2200 bed, but I just don't know if mounting bolts, gas tank, etc. will match up. If anyone has any experience with this, please please please enlighten me. I shall be forever in you debt.......until I drive my truck, then I'll forget. :D THANKS!! (ohsnap!)

This is beyond my area of expertise. You may want to take a tape measure and just look at all the dimensions.

Thanks for the reply!

Thank you for replying. I was afraid that I was going to have to just rely on good-ol-fashion measuring. Both trucks look exact. Well........here goes nothin'! Peace out yo! (breakn)

Let us know how it turns out. The old B series trucks don't get as much love around here as they deserve.

I had 2 of these trucks. A 1989 b2200, red with about a 6-7 inch stripe down the side and custom white spoke rims. 5 speed and loved that little thing. I think somebody here has an avatar of the one I'm describing. Bought new with only 300 miles on it. Unfortunately, it was my first experience with auto financing and having lost my job a year later and not having found anything to really get ahead with the payments, it got repoed. A sad, sad day for me. However, 2 years later and the whole mess finally straightened out, I paid $5K cash for a 1988 model but this one was a real custom. Custom aluminum rims, repainted with sparkle blue paint and a windowless shell to match. Not a bad sound system in it either. Had 49K miles on it and 8 years later, traded it in for my wifes 626 to kind of keep the Mazda line of vehicles going. Now my daughter has a 626 which I am going to work on today. Still think about that little blue thing from time to time. Went everywhere and ran like a champ. Even had a clogged radiator for a time and ran hot but never ran poorly. Did a complete head job at 189K miles when a spark plug broke off inside and traded it 2K miles later. Loved how it looked from the rear with those 15's sticking out a couple of inches from the body.
